i had the same problem but i found the solution you have go to to system settings in the game menu then you choose download and you get the latest version of the update for pes 2009 after that you have to copy again the file (only the option file, not every file) from your usb stick. Finally...

you have to download the latest system version for your ps3 and also the latest version of konami for pes 2009
