10 vs 10: Good or Bad ?

Konami has the target to create an 10 vs 10 multiplayer. Would it be possible to have a normal match with 20 players?

I don't think so.

1) The first problem comes with choosing a team... One wants to be Chelsea, the other want to be Man UTD etc... When punks don't get to play in the team they want, they'll prolly leave the game.

2) Everyone wants to be the best players. Take Olympique Lyon for example. They have some very good stars, but also lots of lowstats players. People that have to play with a crappy defender will problably leave the game immeadiately.

3) Once everyone has a player, that comes with a position, will all those players really TAKE their position??? I think everyone wants to score or give a nice assist or make a rough tackle and not eveyone has patients to make one of those. Therefor, everyone will prolly just run after the ball like 5 year olds onthe field in RL.

4) Everyone knows that the nerds among us have a bad temper... Therefor, when u have those people on ur team and u get a 3-0 ass woop in the first half, they will leave or they will get yellow/red cards to mess up the game...

There are allot more reasons NOT to have the 10 vs 10 mode and concludes it's a waste of time to even make this target for PES2010... They better focus on the wishes of people on this forum, because there some great adies among those!

IMO: 10 vs 10 could only work when u have some sort of briefing with all the players to tell them what to do, and that would only be REALLY possible to have PES-guilds...

ten v ten... no one wants to go in goal!

also, to seperate the weak/impatient/rubbish from the good, i'm sure konami could sort out the stats at the end of the game, find out who's holding their position, who is playing the most relevant to their position etc... am i right in saying that on F*f*a you have the chance to be selected for the nationals if your player is good enough and in the top 10? that would be immense. the first ever world cup where no one had to leave their living rooms :)

1) there is a captain for each team, he chooses it

2) dunno what to say, could be problem

3) that's like in an FPS, will people work as a team? will they just think for themselves? they could put players togrther on ability so good players match up with other good players and also face a good team

4)they have a disconnect percentage so people know what they are like

No one wants to defend so people who dont get to pick an attacking role will just leave the game. They do it in FIFA all the time.

I think a 6 v 6 online would be quite good, and I wouldnt mind having control of the keeper every now and then.

Yeah keeper control could be good...

I played centre-mid in one of them fifa matches once, and it doesn't matter what position people play in, they run around like lunatics everywhere anyway :/

I don't mind what role I play, to be honest, as long as I'm not playing with a bunch of idiots. One of the captains played a good trick on those that rush to be strikers: He played the defenders up front and strikers in defence. People picked their desired roles, then he put the defenders and strikers back in their natural positions. I picked to play up front for Real Madrid and realised I was Pepe. A few seconds later, my position had changed from striker to defender. I played the whole game, though.

yeah, i can't see anyone playing defence and taking it seriously, even in legends online in PES people are all over the shop, and that's with just 4 players!

Yeah that sounds like the right way to go. 10v10 on Fifa is fun for a minute or two then it just gets a bit silly whereas 5v5 on Fifa 08 was brilliant. The best combination was 3 fixed players and 2 controlling the rest, which works really well as long as you have people on your team who know a bit about football and don't just stand offside the whole time. I personally don't mind playing in defence, but only if I can control more than just one player - sod playing CB for the whole game. However, PES really need to sort out a lag free 1v1 before even contemplating a 10v10, 11v11, 5v5 or 6v6, although I think they will include something like this as Fifa have been offering it for 2 years now.

I would like to control the keeper. But anyway, I think that it's hard to make accurate keeper controls, so 10vs10 is the maximum. At least 6vs6 where you take control of mid or att.

10 v 10 works fine as long as you are playing in a proper team (club in Fifa). That way if somebodies not up to scratch or can't play their position you just remove them from the club.

this is bad idea, konami still need to figure out how to get 1v1 running smoothly before they think about 11v11.

Konami has to fix the 1v1 online this October. Im a patient man but the last two games have been terrible where as on PES6 I was always online because the Network menu was easy and simple to use and the matches were practically lag free. (even when there were some lag, both the match just went slow for both players)

If its not fixed this year, for the first time ever, I wont be buying Pro Evolution Soccer.

Dude you want to play 11 vs 11: grab a Football and some cleats and play Real Football... it's healthier.

I think it is a waste of effort to be developing 11 vs 11 at this stage. And I feel no interest to play 11 vs 11: Defending all the time?? Having to share the pitch and the Team with 10 others?

I really don't like it when a Simulation tries to replace the Real Thing: 11 vs 11 play... I simply don't like the Concept.

I prefer "1 vs 1" play or "2 vs 2" play: it's a different experience, it's not trying to replace Real Football.

Maybe in 4 or 5 years I'd like to see something like 11 vs 11... But before that happens I'd like to see better, much better 1 vs 1 play.

The human factor will make 10v10 impossible (goalkeepers would be near impossible to play IMO).

10 v 10 has got to be the aim, the reality is that unless some sort of rating system is put in place as already suggested then most games will be like fifa when you have 20 attackers, personally I play DM on fifa and 8/10 times get MOM mostly because I hold my position. also like playing CB and getting some good tackles in. that said the 10 v 10 should be reserved for the legends and therefore your stats will totally depend on you.

i am abseloutley positive i read an interview by someone from konami this time last year ,saying they would never do 10 v 10 as they wanted to focus on team play and their new AI teamvision ,never mind 11 v 11

in which the reasons given mirror many posted here ,so why the apperent u-turn

it smacks at the ass of "if you can beat them ,join them"

i had a really good feeling about pes10 ,now i dont

That's what I'm talking bout... 20 lunies and 1 ball...

Changed it to 10 vs 10... Sawwy. Is there a way to edit the thread name as well?

Lawl also very true...
Perfecting the basics is a much more Japanese way of improving a game than add modes and extra's...

And with perfecting the basics I mean. Getting all license and improvement on AI, especially the keeper and side backs....
