1st season ml, can barely sign any players...any advice

Hi,

like the subject says, I'm in my first season of the ml and am really struggling with the standard ml players, though the beast Ribeiro has scored 14.

I've only made two transfers in the January window and none in August one. I can afford them and I'm going for those who aren't getting into their respective first teams. Everyone keeps turning me down though.

Any advice?

oh your team needs recognization there is no screen to show that but win matches and players will acknowledge u ....or u can ride out some years and u will find many many players aged(15-19) highly rated just look in the advance search in mid transfer window every year

Easy solution = Free agents.

Also, during the season, look for players who have last year on their deal going

ok look as for players with "facing competition for places": this means u have too many players in that position and probably some of them have higher levels than the one u wanna buy .. so he doesn't agree especially if he's a young player with a modest level from like 79 to 83. and in this case all you can do is either wait or sell some of your useless players especially players older than 29 years .

as for "used to be a regular": it means he's a famous player or an essential player for his team even if he has low levels ..

what I do is this:

U know each player has info about his situation with his current team
some players are said to be established players for the squad .. and those are hard to buy ..

so I choose young players with good levels and index cards and with info that says stuff like: (struggling with the team to hold his position) or (hardly looked at)
and offer to buy them ...

also choose players with low affection levels

and players with no years left in the contract like 4 out of 4 years or 1 out of one year ...

I would sign good players over 30 who cannot get a regular place and sign them....I signed Van Nistelrooy in my first season....he's my top goal scorer...only problem is that i can only extend his contract for 1 year at a time

Dont not what your teams ranking is. But im playing wolfsburg in my ml. Had the 1 mil scout the first two seasons and it was hard to buy player only could buy ppl who were unhappy and were struggling for a place. Now in my 3rd season my team is rank 45 and i have the 5 mil scout and just signed two player who were a member of the team and had five bars happyness. Its still hard to buy players but the better and higher your team get the more players will come. You just have to slowely build your team this year. Invest in your youth team too thats gonne pay of after a few seasons.

I struggled to sign players in my 1st season also. I managed to sign Vanderbuurd and Di Maria in my 1st season, and that was only because in their dossier it said 'struggling to hold down a 1st team place'. I think a good strategy is to look for players who:

-Have only 1 year left on their contract
-In their dossier have 'struggling to hold down a 1st team place'.
-Have a fairly low club affection.

Don't bother bidding for players that have are a 1st team regular, because they won't move 99% of the time. But it is really worth looking at their dossier, because that gives a good indication of whether they would be up for a move or not.

It also helps to start bidding when the season start and just keep bidding when its turned down.
