The servers were never great but the game was playable the last years. This year they just completely screwed it up.

I've been fighting the server lag and trying to play, last few days it seems it's better but there are bad lag games with delays etc. My question here is, did something happen with the shooting? maybe even passing? I don't feel like I have much control of either. Passing sometimes feels over powered, and other times the pass barely gets off the player's foot. Shooting feels random and determined by the AI if it will go in or not. I've had so many games, more than every really with me getting tons of shots, 15-20 per game where nothing every goes in, and my opponent gets 2 or 3 and gets a fluke goal of a deflection. I know this happens in football but this year it's almost an every day occurance. When is the damn patch coming anyway?

I've had games with multiple first half goals and zero time added. But honestly at this point it's the least of my worries with all the other issues we have to deal with.
Could someone who has played at least 10 games on Top Player advise on how easy it is please.
I cannot last another game on Superstar. Even though I win most of the games they are absolutely hideous and thoroughly unenjoyable.
My 5 star team is packed full of slow, incompetent morons. Most goals are empty net tap ins or gifts from the CPU, who are absolutely untouchable in every other aspect of the game.

My personal feeling is Fifa, this year and the last few years, has gotten away with a lot because of the official licences, The Journey, and especially Ultimate Team, which has a loyal following.
Playing both demos I was very impressed by PES.
The pacing on the pitch, the visuals, the crowd effects, and the little touches that make a game, all felt great and I enjoyed it immensely.
Fifa, by contrast, felt awkward, stale, lifeless...the visuals were terrible, atmosphere non existent.
I honestly couldn't play more than 2 games and I deleted it.
PES just felt better in every way...and with option files it is almost a whitewash...yet The Journey and FUT are light years ahead of the offering on PES.
But the gameplay just isn't good enough, I feel.
And I have no bias.
I've been playing fifa since the Megadrive, and footie games before that, back to kick off on the Amiga, and the old ISS arcade machines .
I bought PES on ps2 3 years in a row, then on 360 and ps3 got pes at first then switched and got fifa 10, 12, 13 and 14, on console and mobile, but then PES again the next year as it was much better. Then I got fifa 17 last year and this year I've gone back to PES because I simply enjoy the game of football more in that title.
In short, I go for the better gameplay on the pitch, above all else.
I'll play a years worth of COM exhibitions if it comes to it, as long as the game on the pitch is better.

Happy to hear you like PES ..'cuz I find it really really restrictive and arcadish. Konami has made passing and shooting easier this year but still cannot fix player switching and online. This reduces the amount of players who compete with human opponents online. Therefore, you sit alone in your boxers...on the couch playing game after game against the COM. I find that is the case for if not all...most lovers of PES ...they do not like to compete against real human players.
Fifa 18 has its issues ...but the game is waaaaayyyyyyy much more advanced than PES. I play Fifa and whatever issues affects me also affects my opponents ..so level playing field. I kick some ass and get my ass kicked from opponents GLOBALLY. This is enormous fun for me. I have never played against the AI in Fifa. No need. Plenty of ppl online to challenge.
Fifa is constantly updating the game. We complain....one week ...patch is out. They have addressed ping pong passing...

They have addressed cheats..
"Another FIFA 18 update has been released, and although it only appears to introduce a pretty small change, it actually fixes a pretty big exploit. Until now, it was possible to trick AI-controlled opposition into fouling you if you went into the corner and shielded the ball. In FUT, this could be utilized to get enemy players sent off and to hence win easily in Squad Battles and boost your rewards significantly".
I find that PES players are now just accepting whatever Konami throws out. Less competing players with PES. Its Sad....:unsure:

I don't agree, based on this years offerings.
I just couldn't play fifa for more than 10 minutes.
It felt very slow and tired...no zip or style.
Fifa is like a tactical 0-0 draw with 2 shots on goal whole match, PES was like Barcelona of 5 years back on speed.
Just my opinion.

I was saying the game itself feels like a boring 0-0 draw with 2 shots on goal...i thought thst was quite clear

Can you elaborate more. Is PES better at gameplay in your opinion or is Fifa just a better offering all around.
