I finished my second season on BAL with wigan, in this time the captain had told me I was an important part of the team.
On the managers rating I was the top rated CF.

Over 2 seasons I had played 69 scored 26, making me the clubs top goal scorer in both seasons.

The club sacked me after the 2 seasons and did not offer me a contract ???
I was even in the team of year with Torres at end of second season but they seen me as surplus to requirements.

What I think it might be is the game does not take form into account, if your overall rating is not high enough you will not get offered a new contract.
So I'm 19 now signed for Blackpool with a current overall of 71, if im right after my 3 years they will offer me an extension as my overall will more likely be the best in the Blackpool squad by then

Anyone else been released in their first stint at a club despite being their best player by a margin

I was at Wigan also when I just started, hated playing the lone striker role. Seems impossible to even get a chance, so you must take all chances when given them. I scored 17 goals my 1st season, and then moved to Aston Villa. Not played a game yet for them, as I'm currently on international duty for Scotland. Doing a lot better for them than I done with clubs.

17 goals is prolific, I mean better than Shearer, Fowler, Owen, Andy Cole etc.
You no why, your a 17 year old lone striker with poor overall rating playing for Wigan.
Even Rodallega wont get near 17 goals and hes a finished article

I'd even hazard a guess at ameatuer, I play on top level feel like I'm cheating if its set any lower.
Plus the AI is slightly less retarded on top player, both your own and CPU
