Anyone worried about PES14 already?

Greetings people, now I'm not going to go off on a moan again about lack of offline modes and PES13, I've come to terms with that now.. well sort of.. ok I'm still bitter but Konami say it's back next year.. the swines..

But anyway.. back to the topic..

Next year is the new engine, which I'm looking forward to, and I hear it's a completely different game, which I'm worried about. Anybody else concerned that Konami could really mess things up?

The best part of PES for me, and probably the only reason I've not gone off to planet EA, is the editor, I'm not a great editor by any means, but I love having that freedom to create/edit/ruin teams and players.

But if this is going to be a whole new game, that will mean the editor will get revamped, I have this nagging feeling that Konami could balls it up completely.

Anyone else concerned?

If he comes back and give us a good editor, plus my beloved offline community mode, I'll offer to make love to him.

Fingers are crossed

They've already messed things up. PES 2014 can only be an improvement on the last 2 versions.

:erm:

Gotta love your optimism what where are you getting it from?

A new engine wont solve Konami's batshit craziness and the general ignorance/contempt they show towards what the fans actually want. Not to mention the fact a new engine will come with a new set of problems in the form of bugs, glitches etc. and probably a whole new level of controller smashing, cheaty AI.

Konami are good at one thing, making people believe that NEXT TIME they'll get it right, NEXT TIME the game will be amazing again and NEXT TIME they'll be back on top of the world.

Fast forward this time next year and the same folk will be talking about how much they are looking forward to PES on the next generation of tech or how PES will be great once Konami work the bugs out of the new engine. THEN IT WILL BE TOTALLY AMAZING MAN! RIGHT! RIGHT?

Just the hope that they can return this series back to the game I used to love (and simultaneously hate), instead of just pure hating.

Rumours abound that 2014 is going to a new engine. If thats true, hold on to your current games chaps because every time there is an engine change with a title, it means massive massive bugs and shitloads of them. I fully expect it to be shit right out of the box and not to get any better till at least a year later with 2015.

Sounds like Liverpool fans!

I wouldn't be too optimistic yet on the next series not because of the new engine but because its Konami working with a new engine! They always find a way to mess up and deliver a fully flawed game. I wish they would study the game of football not just the game play but the ins and outs of football too! How many more years are we going to have to wait for proper goalies, proper referees, full control over our players and for the love of god realistic injuries with real life times out instead of it just being 1 week all the time!!
The series needs an overhaul from the gameplay ( which is decent this year) to the master league which needs serious work too! I wish they'd change it to a career mode something similar to fifas with a proper transfer market and even story lines! Get rid of the Japanese quirkiness like the stupid boots idea ( which I read earlier is being patched out in December) bring back the league mode and community off line, if anything they should be adding more offline modes not taking them away!! Sadly I can't see too much change but I do hope im wrong!

In other words, you will play a disappointing video game just because it offers an editor, yet you will ignore a clearly superior product because it does not offer the type of editor that makes you giggle? I hope Konami balls it up completely, at least as far as people/consumers like you are concerned.

By the way, the editor of PES5 and PES6 was better than the extremely simplistic editor that PES13 offers. And -I feel this is popular opinion at this point- of course, PES13 is not up to scratch as a video game.

Me too mate, but until they do I will not be buying any Pro Evo games.

The days of me forking out £30 or £40 every year based on the hope that Konami have got their shit together are gone.

PES 2012 was the final insult for me but to be honest I should have stopped buying the games years ago.

Actually he is right the editor in PES is excellent far far better than fifa, more to the point the choice between fifa and pes is personnel preference, you want to slag somebody because you believe fifa is better, well in my opinion and many many other despite all the cock ups this year fifa is still nowhere near the game Pes is it just doesnt have that real football real physics gameplay too many aspects are easily executed and repeated game after game such as goals evo on the other hand has always been more diverse more unexpected and always striving to be a simulator I cannot say the same about childish arcadey Fifa

ive long lost faith in the pes series...

Who has not?

can it be any worse?
It sure can...if we keep buying the shit they produce yearly

They've already messed things up. PES 2014 can only be an improvement on the last 2 versions.
Improvement is not a word used around the PES production group in over 7years....why should they start now?

Me too mate, but until they do I will not be buying any Pro Evo games.

Good Choice....hit them where it hurts.....them they will realize wtf is up.

The days of me forking out £30 or £40 every year based on the hope that Konami have got their shit together are gone.

After 7years of trying ....shouldn't we get their message by now?

PES 2012 was the final insult for me but to be honest I should have stopped buying the games years ago.

retrospect! But the question is ....will you really stop buying.

In a few months, we will have the usual fanatics here telling us how great a game PES 2014 will be ...you know the bullshit that has happened for over 8yrs. ...

And guess what .....a lot will be suckered in again.

Every year they all say the same ...."This is my last year if the game is not good".....

Wash Rinse ......Repeat.

The PES franchise is dead...been dead.

Only a few old faithful fans here who lives on past experiences hang on to this old tired title.

Go to GameStop and ask for PES2013 and watch the agent stare blankly :shocking:

"What is that sir?"

:w00t

peace

In my view, PES 2010 --> PES 2011 was a massive improvement. It all went downhill from there.

Thanks for that, I'll try and ignore the harsh tone.

My point is as far as my personal enjoyment of a football game, the editor that PES has makes a huge difference, I spend more time editing than I do playing. Pure individual preference. Myself and friends have our own method of playing tournaments where editing is a 'fun' tool to have.

Does it make me right or wrong in my opinion? No..

And I'm not going to pass any judgement on a 'superior' title in FIFA, it just doesn't offer what I want in the game and never put a smile on my face. Which is key.

Why always promising on a good show next year? Why not this year? :-/ Reminds me of a certain manager of a certain English PL team who haven't won anything for 7 years now and stick to the motto of, "We will get it next year".

:( I don't have any expectations for PES 2014. Better keeping it like that rather than dreaming and disappointing myself.
