Anyone worried about PES14 already?

With a new engine and a new London studio, hopefully Konami will stop shooting themselves in the foot, by removing different game modes.

Not to be a blind optimist, but I figure Konami have been working with a fox-engine powered PES for a little while now. Let's wait and see.

I'll end up buying the game, however, I am getting a bit tired of all the glitches and patches Konami have to release to fix the game.
I wish Konami would just release a game when it's ready rather than releasing an un-finished game year on year!

But I too am a big fan of the Editor. I feel it's an element of the game which makes it your own.

However, the games seem to be getting better and better. Not quite the same fun element as what I had with PES 5 & 6.

Why all the hate for PES? Sure it has its flaws, but Fifa is not any better. I switched back to PES this year and I'm very happy about it. I think PES knows they can't f up with the new engine and I believe they won't.

It seems like nearly all games need patches to sort things out on the current gen consoles and PES is no exception.

Hi Germany 1989,
Totally agree with you. I really like PES2013. PES2014 should be good as long as they carry on building on the gameplay.

However, Re: the patches, there was a serious flaw where the edit screen would freeze due to a "Boots" issue. This was seriously bad! I spent 5 hours having to check every single player's boots before I could play the game.

Anyway, looking forward to next year. All positive from me!

No not really,i believe they'll stick with the pes2013 gameplay and improve it,add couple of modes and tweaks here and there and voila,we have good pes game.

It appears that most of the guys here are either bored of playing FIFA (which is not good for more than 10 games per release) or people not having patience to come to terms to PES. I agree, the most annoying Video makers ever to have are KONAMI, but guys, PES 2013 is really a world class game (barr that boots shit). It could have easily blown FIFA away, if at all they managed to give that glossy look of FIFA, getting rid of that C grade menus and owning all those licenses. But once you work your way through all these shit and kick the ball off, this is a wonderful game to own. But to reach to this point is a pain in the a** in itself and hence the reason, people prefer to pick FIFA and play instantly. I always do the same every year. Follow FIFA closely till release, get it, play 3-4 games and love it.. play 10+ games, get bored.. No footy game for a while, as an alternative get PES, get frustrated to adapt to these crap menus and sounds(remember I am coming from FIFA), throw it, again pick it again after a while. Life goes on.. But yes, I agree that 2010, 2011(to an extent), 2012 are all real pain to play. not PES 2013. Its an awesome game, but KONAMI spoiled it a little by removing league mode and adding the non sense concept of boots in ML.

Not sure if anyone else agrees, but 2014's master league should allow you to switch clubs.
You as the manager will have a rating which increases / decreases with your club's achievements. This will determine which clubs are interested in you at the end of each season.

Also, it would be nice to be able to play as a national team in the major championships, selecting the squads for the tournament. It's a bit Football Managerish but sometimes I do get quite bored with the current Master League format.

But I am hopeful!
I really enjoy playing PES 2013. Best one yet on the latest generation of consoles.

I'm not worried.

I like the game.

go on then, call me a noob or whatever, shoot me.

This game seems to have split PES fans like no other PES game. You're happy with the game, so obviously you're not worried.

Am I worried? I wouldn't say so.
I mean, I didn't like PES 2013 (based on the demo) so decided to give it a miss this year. It's not like I miss it either. If PES 2014 is (in my eyes) a return to form, great. If it's not, then so be it.

Compared to years ago, in general people seem to take videogames more seriously these days. So they want their own vision of perfection, anything less and it's a piece of shit. It's as if people come in with this attitude, 'if the game doesn't do what i want, it's shit'.

Worst thing is, if someone is unhappy, they just cannot help but be spiteful, some people cannot rest until everyone around them on a forum is as unhappy as they are. they want everyone to feel how they feel and if they don't their insecurity will not let up.

They just cannot take the fact someone else is enjoying the game. This is a general thing I've noticed on FIFA, PES, and other games.

The best advice is to simply play the game for what it is. It's just a game, we must all remember if the game was perfect 10/10 best thing to ever be released it will make absolutely no difference whatsoever in your life.

The fact is, videogames are at their highest point, a complete waste of time, money and energy. I know when i play, I'm essential wasting time, I'm being weak minded, instead of focusing and searching within spirituality, meditating or practising yoga, tai chi or beneficial things to my mind, body and soul, I'm wasting my time on a game which is a great and game and enjoyable but teaches me nothing and makes no difference whatsoever if i win or lose.

Bad video games, well, are they really bad? Maybe the time not spent on a video game could have been put towards something beautiful in your life, or already has, if you have beautiful children or a wife, or made some great friends or done something spectacular, who gives a shit about PES.

I love PES, but its just a game, I'm an artist so i love editing things so that is why I love PES but seriously, there is no point in being negative all day about a game, there so much in life out there.

anyway, this is why I don't read forums for others opinions on games, since there is so much placebo effect it's crazy, through balls for example, I didn't know they where an 'issue' until someone talked about it on a forum, for over a month I played this game happy with the balance, then i come on a forum and all of a sudden nobody can defend through balls. lol. Not that the claim isn't legit because we all play differently after all.

That is my opinion for now anyway.

so many truths written up here...

right, but what happens you you are playing PES? you want that experience to be as perfect as the time you had with your friends. and some people just can't deal with it

we are too infuenced by what we read. and PES is one of those games that is exponencially infuenced. the same "through ball issue" raised inside me only after I read about it. and for two weeks I hate PES2013 so badly that almost reinstalled PES2011. Of course, as Randall said, this franchise is getting like USA and those "issues" will keep appearing. But why are we here? isn't this a PES forum? isn't this a forum about the best football game in the world? and if this forum have thousands of members we can't be all wrong. What I mean is that PES isn't getting worse year after year since 2005. we are only seeing it with blurred eyes. we assume that the game is bad, then we read that the game is "bad", and it surely is considered bad! but it isn't. and since the moment I understood this I felt much happier playing it.

this is just like bussiness: if someone says that this is a bad investment, all other people will withdraw their money, an these ones will change the ideas of others, and so on. chain reaction, unstoppable. but what if someone, instead of criticising, shouts the good side of this? of course it is way more difficult, the human race is programmed to enhance the bad, but how good would it be?

just think about this :)

There's only been 1 other PES game since 2011, so it's not difficult. :D

For me, I enjoyed 2011. I bought 2012 but stopped playing it after a short while.

Whilst I could tell from the demo that PES 2013 was an improvement on 2012, it wasn't enough to make me buy the game. Still the same things that I hated about 2012, and not enough things that I loved about 2011 to make it worth my while to buy 2013.

So, in a sense, you're probably right about it being the best since PES 2011.... if you get me. :erm:

I see you might have misunderstood me.

1- PES2011
2- PES2012
3- PES2013 so this is the 2nd one since 2011

I can also say that I haven't played 2012 game at all. rubbish at my eyes. if this game (2013) wasnt this fulfilling to me this year PES experiences would be confined to Shollym

What camera do you use bud? I took to using the Blimp Camera, whilst I like using the closer camera's for dribbling I found it is easier to play long ball to the wings more effectively on the Blimp setting. I'm still struggling a little with crossing from wide areas, the Goalkeepers are incredibly adept at grabbing crosses out of the air on 2013.
