Probably a replacement for Parlour, he played a few games last season so we couldn't really afford to just lose a squad player.
I'd hope that if Vieira went then we'd get a proper replacement with the money.

Seriously though, if you did win it, you wouldnt really need to buy too many more players.
Not sure about this new kid, everyone gets excited about every time Wenger buys an unknown but they forget players like Igor Stepanovs, Nelson Vivas, Pascal Cygan, David Grondin, Remi Garde, Aba Diawara, Stefan Malz and Christpher Wreh but at least they all cost less than Veron. As with any team, a lot of the young players Arsenal have got just wont make it at Arsenal but will probably go to other teams.
Still new faces are always nice arent they. Especially when youre always being told they havent got any money. Wengers couch must have had an amazing amount of change lost in it

People forget Stepanovs, Vivas, Grondin and Garde because they were never thought of as future world stars. Even Arsenal need squad depth...
We will see if Flamini is going to be in the Vieira or Garde camp when the season starts and he plays regularly... or not...

Edu seems pretty keen on a move to the Camp Nou. That would be a real kick in the Michael Ballacks to Arsenal. I though he was the most improved player in the league last season.
