Arsenal sign another shite-arse eh? sigh
Let's just hope Wenger gets it right again :)

I don't know where they're finding the money - I thought he had none left?

It says on the BBC sport site that we won't have to pay a transfer fee for him cos he didn't sign a pro contract with Marseille. They'll get some compensation for him though.

Nothing on the Arsenal site yet...

The transfer fee is basicly the £1.5mil you'll have to pay in compo

How much transfer money do you lot reckon Arsenal will have next summer then?

50!

115 and Counting...
Is this Flamini a replacement for a player thats going to leave/left or just some reserve player uz decided to buy? Because with Edu, Gilberto, and Viera will we ever see him play?? Is he Ray Parlour's replacement?

Probably a replacement for Parlour, he played a few games last season so we couldn't really afford to just lose a squad player.

I'd hope that if Vieira went then we'd get a proper replacement with the money.

dunno, how much do you get for crashing out of the group stages?

Seriously though, if you did win it, you wouldnt really need to buy too many more players.

Not sure about this new kid, everyone gets excited about every time Wenger buys an unknown but they forget players like Igor Stepanovs, Nelson Vivas, Pascal Cygan, David Grondin, Remi Garde, Aba Diawara, Stefan Malz and Christpher Wreh but at least they all cost less than Veron. As with any team, a lot of the young players Arsenal have got just wont make it at Arsenal but will probably go to other teams.

Still new faces are always nice arent they. Especially when youre always being told they havent got any money. Wengers couch must have had an amazing amount of change lost in it :D

You have a lot to learn...
Firstly, Cygan, Vivas, Stepanovs, Grondin and Malz were bought as back up...
As far as unearthing 'World-Class' talent goes Alex Ferguson couldn't hope to be classed in the same world, let alone league, as Sir Arsene...
How about;
Nicolas Anelka, bought for less than a million sold for £20+Million...
Emmanuel Petit, bought as an unknown left-back turned into the best central midfielder in the world when we sold him...
Patrick Vieira, unwanted youngster from AC Milan now the most sought after player in the world...
Edu, quickly branded a 'flop' but know now that he holds down a regular place in our unbeaten team...
Kolo Toure, 'Over-Enthusiastic' youngster now matured into one of the most under-rated centre backs on earth, when will people realise that the mistake they want him so badly to make is unlikely to happen...
Marc Overmars, his top-flight career effectivley over through a broken leg, but he managed to scare the shit out of 1 no 2 no 3 or was it 5 makeshift right backs against Man Utd in the 97/98 double winning season...
Well, Well, there is one more relative unknown or should I say unexpected 'world-class' player that I haven't high-lighted for you...
Starting as a 'quite' promising striker at Monaco, poached to be a left-winger by Juventus then taken on by us to replace the void left by Ian Wright, Nicolas Anelka as a goal-scorer, 'He is no goal-scorer' they said...
They were right he isn't, he is more than that, he is the best footballer on the face of this planet and his name?...

which is precisely why i didnt mention any of the players you did. I mentioned the ones that on the whole, flopped as a perfect way to illustrate my point that not EVERY player that Wenger buys is the bollocks, and this one (Flamini) could fall into either category. And then you start banging on about Vieira and Henry? Why? they have absolutely no bearing on Flamini's chances, unless of course they brought him up and taught him everything he knows about football.

for fucks sake man, try to look beyond the man u badge under my name and try not to let it ruin every post you make.

I was underlining why what you said was idiotic. The reason people get excited by unknown/young players bought by Wenger is because of Vieira and Henry and the rest of the players on my list...
People forget Stepanovs, Vivas, Grondin and Garde because they were never thought of as future world stars. Even Arsenal need squad depth...
We will see if Flamini is going to be in the Vieira or Garde camp when the season starts and he plays regularly... or not...
I sense your poorly channeled anger coming from being left behind by Us and, even,
Chelsea last season...
Be careful you may find Crystal Palace a problem next season...

Let's keep that to the "Who's da bestest team?" thread.

Flamini could pave the way for Edu to Barcelona, although Charlie Dimmock to Middlsebrough seems more likely.

Edu seems pretty keen on a move to the Camp Nou. That would be a real kick in the Michael Ballacks to Arsenal. I though he was the most improved player in the league last season.
