Van Persie - I was always looking for Henry

By Joe Brewin

Robin van Persie says helping Thierry Henry score in the Premier League again was always on his mind.

The duo combined for the seventh goal in the emphatic victory over Blackburn – the latter’s 228th strike for the Club - and celebrated in style.

Henry scored the winner in the FA Cup third-round victory over Leeds last month, but prior to Saturday's match he had yet to register in the Premier League after returning to the Club on loan.

"It was great because I wanted him to score,” said the Dutchman. “He scored a fantastic goal in the FA Cup but I wanted him to score in the Premier League as well.

“Every single touch I had I was looking for him. I wanted to play him in.

“And with the last kick of the match, it just happened. The only thing on my mind was passing to Thierry. I wanted him to score and he did."

A true captain.

Bishop, you were absolutely right, the board is fking us.

Wenger: I like Hazard but I need to make a £20m profit EVERY season

Arsene Wenger has admitted his admiration for Lille’s £30m-rated Eden Hazard - but the Arsenal boss says he is under pressure each season to make between £15m and £20m in profit on transfers in news that may not go down well with Arsenal fans.

It is understood that Wenger had £35m to spend in January but chose not to and the club are likely to record huge profits of up to £60m before the end of the season.

Wenger, who sold Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri for nearly £60m last summer, said: “You should know that each season, it is imperative to show a profit of between fifteen and twenty million pounds. I would add that the purpose of a coach is to always buy at a price he sees fit.

I really like him (Hazard) and, for several reasons: it's his creative power, his ability to mis-align the opponent, his vision of the game and his consummate skill to address the last pass which make him a very interesting player.”

Arsenal are also set to go on TWO separate money-spinning tours this summer even though Wenger has always fought against long haul trips in pre-season.

They are scheduled to go to Seoul, Beijing and Hong Kong before returning to London and then doing another trip to Nigeria.

In that quote, Meyyappan, where it says anything about the £20m being needed to be made on transfers. It seems to me that whoever has written that article has simply inferred that Wenger has to make £20m profit on transfers alone.

Also, please don't do the thing with the different font sizes - it's annoying. A simple bolding of the necessary parts would have the same effect.

So do you know how much spend and how much is our income and from which sources?

Anyways this a classic case of our manager wants him but cannot get him:

Wenger has never come out like this on any player, always suggesting that if he announces his targets their prices rocket but he has now what does that mean? and also be a loyal employee he never comes out on his employer and states always it is his duty to work with the constraints again he has done so:

So it means he really wants him and hence has gone public to invite some pressure and enable him to get him...also he has revealed the conditions with which he had to work for the past 6 trophiless years, make a 15-20 profit every year maybe the needed amount to repay the loans..

 Those two tackles are brilliant. I can't believe you get a free-kick for hacking someone down. Why does it never work that was for Phatmann?

The story is that Sturridge likes our brand of football and doesn't feel Villas Boas can get the best out of him, whereas Wenger would. Of course, I can't see Chelsea ever actually selling him to us though.
