Thierry Henry was absolutely right when he said at around the end of 2014 that we needed World Class players throughout our spine,A Goalkeeper,A Centreback,A Defensive Midfielder and A Striker.

We are halfway there with Xhakha and Cech.

Now we need to get one of ICardi or Higuain and Benatia/Marquinos.Javi Martinez.

But we will probably end our transfer window with a striker and that might be enough for a season domestically but after that we have to get a world class centreback to partner benatia.

In a way though it has cost us,there are pros too to Arsenes approach, had we rushed in we would have had Kondogbia or Schneiderlin but instead we have Xakha also the top top quality waiting has got us Cech too.

But this time its available we should nail either Icardi or Higuain and Benatia or Marquinos.

Please no Morata who has 26 goals in 2 seasons in Juventus who dominate utterly domestically.

All the major news outlets like Sky,BBc et al are reporting that we triggered Jamie Vardys 20m release clause but its actually starting to make more and more sense:

Ibra and Arsene do not get along.

Cavani has still years left on his contract, will get to play striker now and PSG just wont sell.

Higuain has 2 years left on his contract,is not making any noises about moving and has a release clause set at 70m euros

Sportsleaks reveal that if Juve sell to anyother club than Real Madrid they would have to pay them 70m euros so they would be selling at 100m euros to even make a 10m profit, while real can buy him back for 30m euros which if they do they willl keep him as back up and competition to benzema unless they get a considerable profit which will be 50m euros

I dont know about the situation with Icardi

Aubameyang has clarified that he is not leaving the club and has withdrawn from international duty to talk about the clubs transfers with dortmund since they have lost two first team players in Gundogan and Hummels.

So our only option is Icardi,50m euro Morata or Jamie Vardy.

We have made the right choice as long as we now still get a world class centreback in Benatia or the koulbaily from Napoli or Mhikitariyan.

The sum they are asking for morata is a sum we will only pay for a proven playerunder 27 years and who has performed for 2 or more seasons consistently at a great level or is known to be younger and definite dynamite.

Comeonyougunners, all the pressure is paying Arsene is giving it a good go with all intent in the tranfer window

Apparently Vardy had a clause on his contract that stated "if a Champions League club bids 22 mil, Leicester have to accept it". Arsenal took advantage of that (Ranieri just confirmed), and now it's a matter of agreeing personal terms.

It is happening again
Vardy would be stupid to leave Leicester. I would have thought, after all the effort they put in last season, he'd at least want to experience the clubs first ever Champions League campaign?

You know, deep down, he's still a twat. A great player (for counter attacking teams), but probably not a great person. Nonetheless, I too thought he would stay at least this season. And what I can't understand is: if he's moving for money (what other reason could there be), can't Leicester give him a similar amount to Arsenal's? I mean, they might not want to, but they surely have that kind of money.

It's not as easy as that, imo. You think the right thing to do would to remain at Leicester and play that first CL campaign with them, that he played a major role to get to. But he is 29 years old. An opportunity to move to one of England's elite may not arrive again.

I'm gonna sound stupid know, but as I'm an outsider (meaning I don't live your football as you do) it really doesn't make that much of a difference to me.

In what way other than "name" and possibly "fame" is Arsenal bigger than Leicester, speaking in the present situation of course? Both have UCL football. Both have money. Both have media exposure. Both have sold out stadiums week in, week out (I'm making an assumption here). But he only has a fitting tactic in Leicester, he already knows the house and the players/staff, possibly even the city. I understand the big city appeal from London and the need for a new challenge, but he would be better off at another team. Hell, even Chelsea would be more fitting.

What Leicester done this season was extrodinary. Chances of it happening again are quite low I would say. Vardy going to Arsenal not only boosts his back account, but it also gives him a chance to play for a team that is expected to challenge for the top trophies in England year in, year out. Regardless of what Leicester did this season, Arsenal's prestige still trumps that. You're also playing in a better stadium and have better training facilities (although Arsenal players drop like flies, so maybe I'm wrong on that). If Vardy was 25, I think he would be silly to jump now. But at 29? It's unlikely this chance will arrive again, especially if he can't equal what he has done in the season past.

We've reportedly offered Vardy £120,000 a week. For a 29 year old, with just one really good season at the top level, this is so unlike Wenger. This has to be his way of going out with a bang in his last season with us.

I see your point... Maybe it's my disregard for Arsenal speaking, but I wouldn't do it. I do agree that it is a great opportunity for Vardy though.

Leicester are expected to go for Deeney as Vardy's replacement. I really like Deeney, not sure he is the most fitting player for their tactical approach though. Slimani would be a bit better probably, and he's quite younger.

I've figured why Arsenal want Vardy. Vardy's been suspected of taking performance enhancing drugs, hence his drastic form this season. Wenger has been outspoken about doping and getting players tested. He'll sign Vardy, get him tested, discover he's been doping, and demand the rest of the Leicester players get tested too. They get found guilty, and are stripped of the title, which drops down to the runners up... Which is Arsenal.

Wenger wins the league for the first time in 12 years.

Look, contrary to the popular opinion, instead of worldclass we need to plunge in if we get class striker too for Giroud will be tired after going atleast till the semis,Welbeck wont return until the final months,Walcott is a non option so we need to pick anyone of these:

Icardi
Hernandez
Milik
Janssen
Sturridge
Diego Costa!
Lukaku
MOrata?
Aubameyang?
Benzema?

The least likely are listed last but we need someone who can run behind the defence and score or is a dribbler and better finisher than Giroud,at this stage i am so desperate i would even take Lukaku for 45m...But seriously seeing the prices being discussed for Janssen and Milik we can have both of them for 30m,Dutch league top scorers have often turned to be a huge success here from Bergkamp to Nistelrooy to Suarez..Every one missed a trick on Erikssen for 10m..we should not let Janssen and Milik both get away...Janssen is linked for 10-12m to Spurs for god's sake.

Mateja Kezman, Afonso Alves, Memphis Depay...
Theres a reason Afonso Alves was taken by middlesbrough and not anyone else,no top teams were linked to him anyways, thats not the case with Milik or Janssen, the former also seems real class at the euros and Majeta Kezman, the time when chelsea had 2 big signings for each position and werent Drogba and Crespo preferred to him by Jose Mourinho?Do you seriously think depy is done and dusted? He can most certainly turn it around, too early to label him a flop.

Big teams were linked with Afonso Alves. Everything you claim about Milik and Janssen was said about Kezman and more.

As for Depay, he was never as good as anyone in England thought he was and I personally don't believe he ever will be.

I thought he was going to be a star on the pitch, not really a revelation but a confirmation. Not even close. After this season I agree with you, he's too much of a brat to keep his head on the game.
