Don't feel ashamed, move forward in your own pace :) If you have fun then you're on the right level, I'd say.

Then again he does support Sunderland.. he he.

Only kidding, big man. I support the above quote. It's all about getting as much out of it as you possibly can.

The game is top quality. Just an idea but have you tried playing it on 5 star and then going back down to 2?

If you browse this forum you'd come to know, 5* is easier than 3*. Because, in 5* AI tries to attack more and in the process, give you space and time to attack. Whereas in 3*, AI is at its defensive best. It may not score but it wont allow you also to score. So try 5*, you'll surely find it better!

Ah MONSIEUR!,
You have a loving of PES and to play it on 2* you should not be ashamed. I suspect.. that having read the forums for a few months now.. there are some members that .. well exagerate how good they actually are.. so don't be too worried.. or as you would say :eek:hmy: ..Crap yourself.

I agree with the earlier post.. If you get the max enjoyment out of the game on this level.. who cares?.. there may come a time when you think.."I'm winning every single game".. and maybe thats when you should consider a step up in gear..the way i see it monsieur its your game you paid for it.. play it how the hell you like! ..
for now monsieur that is all..

Hey, I tell you what; you bought the game for youself, not for other people. Play it at the rate which suits you. I mean, I have a friend who's pretty new to the series (or if not new, only played PES 3 and 4 infrequently), and is starting on 1. I don't make fun of him, either; he's learnnig the basics as a way of starting off.

I'm not actually that good myself, but I play on 5 stars anyway. So far I've got something like 65% wins (with all the rest draws) 3/4 of the way through my first season. At first it was really hard for me, but I've got used to it. As you would, too. Even if it took you ages of frustration to adapt, if you managed to get used to *****, it would vastly improve your playing ability over time, trust me.

As to the *** issue, there's at least SOME truth to it. The defensive attitude on 3 stars is definately a pain. Which, as a matter of fact, is why I avoid it most of the time.

Splodge try the game on a higher star level mate you might actually find you play better?

I think the more stars you enable the less defensivly the com AI plays, which means when they come forward it leaves more opportunitys for you to attack;)

You can always put the star level back down if you don't like it.

Give it a try you might be surprised;)

everybody has to start somewhere playing onn 2 stars will get you used to the new game while building you'r confidence letting you finish more of you'r chanceswhen you start beating every team all the time and you will then it's time to advance to 3 stars which is quite challenging.

nah mate seriously play it on 5* it so easier plus you see yourself doing amazing link plays and wen you score its an even better feeling, dont be ashamed tho i used to play it on 2* but i started reading this forum and what it is that on 5* there more attacking which leaves you being able to link up the play and amazing shots might not score many to start but dont crap yaself just go with the fhlow think football, not computer game, your'll do fine go try 5* and come bak tell us all what happened, on my first go i didn't do to bad was 0-0 but i found myself playing better because i had to, but dont be scared i admit i still dont get amazing scores on 2* very defensive ur'll love 5* trust

Lol, all this has left me confused! I started on level 5 on PES5 and now play on 6*, so I cannot comment on how 3* plays, but the way you guys talk about it, it's almost as if 3* is the top difficulty lol. Sounds the hardest from the way you describe it....

I did start on 3* on PES4 and can't say it was difficult.

Can anyone clear this up? To be a Pro God, is it level 3 you should try to break down? This doesn't seem right!

Well, as far as I see it - sort of. Five stars is more difficult in one way, in that the CPU attacks more, and has a greater chance of scoring and hence of beating you. However, that aggressive playing style also means that of course, they give you more chances. At 3 stars, the CPU is more defensive, and, as I've experienced it, it is harder to lose on three stars (as the CPU doesn't push up as much), but it is also harder to win (for the very same reason). Does that make sense?

Having said that, it's only my experience of the situation, arh.

I play on 3* and it is super defensive. You get no space at the back and really have to carve up openings. Not tried it on any harder but will as soon as I dominate this level. I was the same in PES 4, really hard on 3* (winning by a couple of goals or drawing) but trashing the CPU on 6*. Maybe its just that I worked my way through, I don't know..

So .. the settings..

:eek:hmy: ..I beat Arsenal.. 4-0 it was on 5* as well.. in a friendly.. but can only draw with them on 3*.. the cpu is definately more defensive on the 3* level.. its not impossible to master though..

It does make sense in one way, yes. I can see how it can be that you would lose less goals and score less in that way. In fact, my friend was playing on 3* and always drawing and when he was over last night(losing to me on 2 player :) ) I told him to try a higher level. He went home and then text to say he won his first game on 4*!
