BAL and superstar level

Long time pes and bal player, but have never tried superstar level before.

Just wondering peoples thoughts on how well it works...

I have avoided bumping it up to superstar before not so much because of my own abilities but more that of my team mates.

Ive always found on top player that my team mates are somewhat retarded. Nothing new there... It has been reported many times that teammate AI has its shortcomings as does AI in general for any video game really. I think pes despite these shortcomings does ok in this department considering.

Anyway, im just wondering peoples experiences...and wondering if it has been written anywhere exactly what bumped up difficulty does to the game.

Im sure i read once upon a time that using top player level, perhaps back when top player was the hardest level you could play, that infact the opposition AI got a boost but your teammates stayed the same i.e. Opposition is on top player but your current team plays at the difficulty below. In effect, making your role more central because you have to step up a gear to cover this void in team equality.

Having said all of this, i just played my first game on superstar bal. Just started a new season with VVV and played a match against feyenoord. We lost 1-0 but had some really good chances and easily couldve drawn.

My player received a 6.5 and had some unlucky misses not scoring.

I think possibly i played a bit more defensive even as a CF because of what ive read in regard to how brutal the AI is on this level, so perhaps that worked in my favour. Dropping back to help keep posession etc...

In previous years I have always played on Professional as your team mates never played higher than this, but this year I started on Superstar as your team mates play at the level you choose.

It's helped this year in that while not perfect (and it shouldn't be) the AI of your teammates is much better than previous years, so much so that when I was playing for Milan & played in Inzaghi I was shocked when he didn't score.

I found it harder starting out this year, but after a couple of seasons it got easier. You still get the odd game where if you don't do it all you lose, but in my experience it is rarer than previous years.

Where did you find the info regarding the AI staying at same level as your settings?

Hey there,
Well i see I'm probably too late but i thought i had to share my experiences....I've played BAL in PES 2012 for quite long now, i think it's already 2026 in the game or so... and my player is already 30 y/o xD so.... i'm a SS and gained CF position later on......I started playing at (Professional) Lvl Then gradually switched to Top Player.... Then Superstar....The AI's Level definitely changes when u take it to a higher level..... But your team's level (WHEN YOU'RE PLAYING ON THE PITCH) won't really change. Why? their level is your level.... If you're new to the game and not the good yet and started BAL with some player like Messi (a superstar) on superstar or even top player you'll see that all these stars in FCB are so dumb and will hate your self while it's just you that they follow... And according to your level they act.

So, If u wanna step from a level to a higher level you better consider some stuff:

1-What's you player's overall and what does that make him (Like, a player with 65 overall is definitely not a superstar....He's professional and MIGHT be Top player according to his individual skills) And play at this level

2-How good you're already in BAL mode.

3-(As a striker, idk about the other positions) Try to play as something like.... Regular.... If u find it too easy to score and that u can score a hat trick almost every match... Then it's not the right level for ya. So, take to a higher level and keep doing it till u reach a level where it's quite hard to score hat tricks, but still possible!.. Once you find that level you should stay at it till you gain more exp, and your player gets even better , then take it to the next level... Etc.

I play for Arsenal now as a CF.... My overall is 107.... Last season i was playing Superstar And scored 117 Goals in 53 Matches :].... And i just Don't find any higher level to take the game to xD.
