Here is how to make BAL a truly amazing experience.

1. Download smoke's patch, because it offers improved AI.
2. Download PES_2011_editor by W!ld@
3. Use the global editor in the editor to give all players and teams the following changes; -5 response for all players and set the global minimum to 70. Then give all players +5 teamwork. Give all teams -15 to pressing and +15 to compactness. Give all players the "speed merchant" card.
3. While you are in the editor you can also change all teams settings to include a few defenders to go up on corners, takes about 15 minutes to do all the important teams.
4. run the game, make a BAL player and enjoy a new and invigorating BAL experience.


But why -5 response you ask, well it's simply because players with really high response, say 90+, will react to your actions on the controller even before your player performs the actions you want them to do. A player in the mid 80's does not, but react really fast and is still hard to dribble past.

But why +5 teamwork you ask, because it increases the willingness of AI players to pass the ball more in the midfield, decreasing the Hawaii football feeling and making the game more enjoyable for true football lovers.

Why give all players the speed merchant card? Because not even the slowest defender in history lose all forward momentum when changing running direction with the ball. Slow players with low agility will be poor at this, even with the speed merchant card, but faster players, like Lennon, will be able to use his speed and agility in a sensible manner.

But why -15 points of pressure, it's simply to make team pressure wait until the half-pitch line or thereabouts. Being constantly pressured right outside your own penalty area is not something you commonly see in real football.

But why +15 points of compactness then? It is quite simply to make AI teams defend a little wider. By doing so it becomes a little harder to break through opponents by crossing the ball to the other side of the pitch, but it also prevents that 3-4 opponents constantly pressure the player in possession.

Lol, that response thing has been in PES for a few years. Always pisses me off that the AI reads my button presses and reacts before my animation even plays! *Presses slide tackle button*--*AI hits breaks*--*I slide harmlessly across the pitch*

At least in real life the dribbler would be able to read your body language and your tackling habits and anticipate the slide tackle. What we have is an oversimplified version of that.

Good tips btw, if I ever find the time I may try that.
