BAL is "Rather Poor"

lol yea that happened to me too so i switched teams. it pissed me off cuz it happened more than once :/

remember wayne routledge getting subbed after 2 mins everyone was shocked then it was in the papers... these things happen it aint happened to me yet but who knows it might do?
It all depends on opposition strenght I think. After first season in Birmingham city played as a stirker, against Liverpool, Arsenal and Man city I played as a lone stiker, it changed against weaker sides where manager set 4-4-2 formation (like Blackpool or West Ham)

Very much in agreement with the thread title, I simply don't give this mode a look in when I play PES, for me its just a stupid mode that they should either extend so much that is its own separate game i.e. with a lot more features like off the field stuff, but it should not be included in PES for sure, I think fixing the cursor is pretty much just as good as BAL mode, plus I think that by omitting it from the game it would provide options to include other things much more in demand, BAL is s***e!!!

With so many things to do in PES 2011... you guys waste the time on BAL? Seriously? Well... I hope I do not get bored of the game so easily, otherwise, I guess I will start BAL mode just like you guys and yes... the AI on PES is crap!

im really shocked at the response.
I really enjoy both aspects of pro evo.
and I really enjoy BAL as i guess it creates the fantasy of actually being a footballer
working your way up the ranks developing as a player
taking your chances.
ive never been subbed on then off, as long as you do the role youve been asked to.
and i can see how its like having fixed cursor at all?? its a completly differnt game.
also it has been greatly improved since the last versions.
also any players you develop can now be registered for master league and online play which is also cool!

Indeed game broken and unplayable, sell it, burn it, whatever is the fastest way.
..or then you can just have a laugh at it and keep playing. I mean come on, I think in every single pes I've had about tens of replays showing funny / weird stuff happening on field..

Ever see defender player tries to force his way through 3 striker in real game? I don't
And the corner kicks. Really awful. When the ball headed out by the defender, heading to your team mates, he will just shoot it no matter his body position etc. I meant, ANY body position, whether his butt is still facing the opposite goal, he still tries to shoot it.
C'mon lads, how does that similar to real life football game. And all those are played on Top Player, with a club level of 66. I can't imagine if the club level is >100, probably the goalie will try to go pass Messi. Lol. Shame on you.

The AI is still an issue.
But it's much, much better than last year.
I've played a full season with a created player and half a season with an original player (GP Extra Content thing) and I'm actually quite happy right now. You can actually tell when you're in a better team this year, unlike the last couple of years.

lair, the game is programmed to sub you off more often than not, it does not take your performance into account
There are games I play 90 minutes but most are about 70

Hey. i'm a newbie to this site but not to PES. I haven't minded BAL over the last couple of years. my problem is not with the AI. i play as a CF. for some reason my player refuses to sprint off the ball. say for example i have come back to defend an opposition attack and am just inside my own half. we turn it round and gain possession and start the break. my team mate on the ball and others start bombing forward. when i try to follow them on the break, my character looks like he's doing some kind of tap-dancing. he just jerks forward and moves REALLY slowly. and i mean REALLY slowly. i would say it would take about 30 seconds to cover half the pitch!
it's not a problem just when attacking either. it's all the time, other than when i'm in possession of the ball. it's serioiusly fooking me off.
like i've said, i've been playing pes for years and can't understand what's going on.

what is your gamespeed set at ? it has to 0 I think on BAL otherwise it spazzes out.
I put mine onto +1 and normal mode worked fine, but BAL was doing what you descirbed until I changed it back to 0

my game speed will probaly be on +1 as that's what speed i play on the other game types. i'll check later - just about to watch the united game. Thanks mate. hope that sorts it.
