base colour kit before applying image

i know that before applying a kit i need to change color in the base kit so it reflects in the crowds, scoreboard etc..but is it really necessary to change it also for the away kit, and most important for the gks? can i just paste the image on the goalies without changing any colors..that would save me a ton of times..

The only reason to change the base colour for away & gk is under armour colour is determined by the base colour

It should also affect the auto-selection of shirt, but you can always change to home/away/third shirt before starting the match.

It does matter for the away and 3rd kits.

The little color blob for the kit select will match the kit color when viewing kits pre-match.

Also when you go into the lineup screen with pre-match commentary your little team lineup kit tops will be wearing the color you set behind the pasted image.

and shorts color changes the undershorts color option.

I made schalke and just lazily matched the shorts to an in game aqua color before loading the away kit which has unique turquoise color shorts.

When I went into a match, any player with undershorts selected in kit accessories had that in game aqua color.

In real life they wear undershorts that are a light blue color so it's very cool you can change it to that.

So, there is no way to make, lets say Sunderland`s supporters to wear white/red shirts, they will wear only red or white, depending on home base color?

Next thing is that I`ve downloaded Glens kits for PS4 and followed his guide for under armour sleeve/under shorts colors to match. Everything seems to work very nice, but when I played with Arsenal, all of the supporters were white, because thats the color I selected for they`r base color (for the sake of under armour). If I choose it red, I suppose fans will wear red shirts, but then under armour sleeves of home kit will also become red. Hmm...

Not 100% sure as I haven't tested it fully, but I think if you use the extra layers before adding the image it has an effect...

eg
Sunderland red base with white stripes as the 2nd layer should give supporters striped shirts.

Arsenal red base with white sleeves as the 2nd layer should give supporters the same kit plus give you white under armour.

Let me know if it works ;)

Thanks for your suggestion, but it didnt work. Despite all the sleeve templates I used for 2nd layer and made it white, while base color red, Arsenal still had those red under armour sleeves. It seems that only base color decides it. I`d rather have them red, but at least supporters are now red as well. I dont think Arsenal uses under armour that much, they rather use long sleeves. The same happened with Sunderland, supporters now wear red, but only red, no stripes. Sunderland now has red under armour, but that works perfectly well, since they use the same in real life.

No worries mate, shame it didn't work. There should be a option in edit mode to specify under armour colour (never gonna happen though)

And to specify the colour of net. Now sunderland has white with green squares. :D And there is no chance to change it, because they`r away kit is green. If I will make base color for they away kit red, I`ll have normal net colour, but red underarmour for green shirt. :D Tricky. And there are no options for licensed teams at all. It seems like small details, but they are important details aiming towards realism. Unfortunately, I have to agree with you, it is very unlikely Konami will change this anytime soon, unless there is like hundreds of tweets asking for this, but lets be realistic, there are more serious troubles at the moment.

I don´t know if you have the same but also the starting formation screen is showing only the base coloured shirts with no stripes or different sleeve colours despite what is determined in the design layers.

Kind a minor thing but stupid because the original kits of the game have also the design in the starting formation screen, for example Juventus and Paris St. Germain. Anyone noticed this and been able to do something about it?
