If you're reading this blog, chances are you've spent at least a few afternoons taking in Batman: The Animated Series. If so, you probably have some fond memories of Mark Hamill's portrayal of the caped crusader's nemesis, the Joker. Rejoice, Joker fans, as Eidos and Warner Bros. Interactive have confirmed to Joystiq that Hamill will be reprising his role as the Joker in the upcoming Batman: Arkham Asylum. Also joining the voice cast will be Kevin Conroy, who has voiced Batman in just about every Batman cartoon under the sun.



Can't wait for this game now.

According to Wikipedia it will be a sandbox game (ie like GTA) where you can roam around Gotham at will.

I heard the only location was the asylum but you can't still just wonder around it, will have to wait till they confirm anything about it.

From Wikipedia
Arkham was chosen as a location because of its limitations including the fact that it's located on an island. Arkham will be a persistent location that the player will be able to freely roam, including an area that serves as Batman's secret on-site Bat Cave.

Set in Arkham Asylum, I think you'll be able to roam with some freedom, but I expect it to be limited compared to a sandbox game.

I seriously cannot wait. Finding out that the lads from the animated series are on board has left my pants in a state.

The best series ever. The extras on those dvds are amazing too!

Good to hear the voices in the game too :D - can't wait

It looks fantastic, its the gameplay that worries me ever so slightly.
Does it have enough variation, is the combat going to be good.

They really need to nail the gameplay. It needs depth, it can't be a button masher.
