As this is a BAL FAQ thread, I would like to ask a question.

I've read many peoples experiences of BAL, probably adding up to several dozen seasons worth of observations, and no-one has mentioned injury. Has anyone been injured? Is it possible to get injured? And if it is, how does that work in the game? Does time just instantly move forward a few weeks?

I shouldn't think so. Whether you have 50 speed or 99 speed it shouldn't make any difference. If your getting tired allot, only use the sprint button when your either on the ball running into space, or on the counter attack. Don't use it to track back or your player will die and get subbed off.

I was asking it because I was thinking of investing my player upgrades on speed...

And as I can adequatly manage my stamina during the match, I was wondering if speed evolving would damage it...

In real life, it would, as running at higher speeds requires more energy, but in game, I doubt it.

That's all fair. Sorry if I pissed you off. I don't want to get off on the wrong foot with you, Gaffa, I've read many of your posts and you make clear, helpful, well thought-out comments and replies to peoples posts.

And the effort that you go to to test and understand the game, and then the steps you take to share your knowledge are commendable. You deserve respect for the contribution you make to the forum, and I have not shown that to you.

I get a bit irritable in October every year, in the few weeks before PES is released. As I said before, I don't have the game yet, as I am a PS2 owner. My apologies again for being a pedant.

The game is never going to be ultra-realistic, especially in the way that it represents and develops player stats. So it was perhaps a completely irrelevant issue in the first place anyway.

No problems... :)

I may come up with some weird explanations, but its just because I think of myself in that position and what the best way would be to get the point across. :)

My goal is not to annoy anyone on these forums, I just want others to enjoy the game as I'm doing. :)

i havent been injured but then at the start of the game i set my injury to "A" (as i would expect most people will). Since it gives you the option to select "C" for injuries (very injury prone), i can only assume it does allow you to get injured. Hopefully someone can confirm. As for what happens if your player is injured, i suppose you would just keep on clicking past matches until your player returns as there would be no point in forcing you to watch the games as your player cant come on, and you wouldnt be able to take part in training

Got taken out in the penalty area last night and went down injured... It wasn't a serious injury but what happens is you sit near the dugout, and you watch the game at normal speed until your fit to come back. I'm sure if it was a serious injury the game will just fast forward as it normal does. :)

BTW just to add, my injury level is A

I've been injured once (my proneness is A). However, just light injury with 2 weeks out. While injured, you won't play, but you still get xp. On one match, i still got 1 week left but the manager suddenly sub me in, hoping that i can help AC Siena make a comeback against Inter --> impossible at my current skill and 15 min left on the clock.

So, when you're fit again, do you have to play training matches again to win back your place in the team (kind of like when you transfer to a new club)? Or does the manager just throw you straight back into the starting XI?

One thing I'd like to add, if your in the first team, DON'T skip matches as you will go back to training, and if your at a club you want to stay at, they won't renew your contract.

As ive stated before, ive played pes since WE 6.

As an observation, those players that are injury prone, be it B or C are usually the best players/good stats. Just look at Ronaldo (brazilian), or for example Beasley (usa).

Im sure there are more...Pele and/or Maradona maybe?

The level of injury prone-ness usually goes coupled with a really good learning curve.

Sadly i did some tests and the BAL players with C in prone-ness dont get a different learning curve.

The curves are all the same for every position and combination. Im guessing that they are handled as predictions and can dynamically change depending on your player's age at a certain time. I dont know if i explained myself correctly :S

You did :)

I'm just trying at the moment to get as old as possible to see what happens... Whether stats go up faster and when you get these damn special abilities.... I still haven't got a single damn one!

I created several players in BAL and so far it seems you can't have a player have Agility, Mentality and Aggression at or over 80.

Now on agility; One was a SS and had 72 agility (which sucks).
Another was an AMF and had 75 agility and another AMF had 78 agility.

Another guy i created was a WF and his agility went way up to 86, which is pretty good.

So far it seems that WF's are the best position to be so that u can get good agility.

Also, I know now that all BAL players have the same learning curve. Which also sucks. I might add more data later on.
Nice thread my friend..But how many players did you create?

As posted earlier i concur that the midfielders seem to have the most stamina, my WB has 89 while the rest oscillate between 78 or so and 82 :(

Well maybe take would be good enough... Be cause if you chose WB as your position, you'd be up 'n' down that pitch like no-ones business... So in all fairness its right.

Saying that, I haven't actually come across someone who has chosen that position, maybe that will be my next position once I'm done with this one :)

I chose AMF because I thought everyone would go as a WF or CF lol... But the case seems to be everyone is going as AMF... Darn it!
