Bring back RANDOM SELECTION MATCH

I just had a bash on Google and i couldn't see any recent threads about this. I realise this thread is now too late for the latest 2012 but i thought i would make it anyway for anyone else who thinks the same.

If you ever used this mode then you don't need me to tell you how awesome it was.

If you didn't then you seriously missed out.

I used it to death on PES6 on the PS2, but it wasn't on the XBOX360 version of PES6 and i'm not sure it has ever been in an XBOX360 or PS3 version of the game.

Here is a video showing you what i am banging on about [be warned this video may cause arousal]:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ri1TL3I9-oc

"In this mode, the user can pick up to either four clubs/nations or one region/league. Once selected, the computer picks a random selection of players from the teams or region for the player's squad. The lineup is selected automatically, although players can choose to let the computer to pick another random selection."

Can people tell me what editions and versions of the game this mode was in please?

If you would like to bring this mode back please comment. No doubt i'm probably the only one who remembers or cares, if so then it seems this mode will be destined to rot away in the PES grave yard along with everything else they keep taking away for no reason

The Konami devs take these features away with good reason and for a very specific purpose. They like to drive their customers crazy. They sit around in their offices monitoring the net for threads just like this one to see who they've peed off, and why. They're no doubt in rolling on the floor in hysterics right now as I type.

So what's the attraction of that feature? Is it for playing P2P, where you don't know what team of players you'll each end up with?

Or they could do it to remove space for other things. If it is that reason then i welcome konami to do that as it is a step forward eventhough it was a legendary mode. Same goes for world tour back in ps2 pes 2008

Wow, that vid gave me a nostalgic feeling. That mode was so brilliant. I always played it with friends. We had to pick two 5 star team, one 3/4 star team and 1 terrible 1 star team. We also agreed we had to play with 3 players from that terrible team in the line up. The fun we had when a 61 rated striker scored a beautiful goal from outside the box...

You know what would be cool ? If you could do the same as 1 of the Fifa euro games, each user chooses a player they like in turn,eg I pick Ronaldo,he/she picks Messi,I pick Buffon, they pick Cech..until you have 2 teams to play each other, also good to get used to different players,
what do you guys think?

I loved the random selection mode, but have also always wanted a turn based draft system as mentioned 2 posts above.

These are modes that can significantly improve the replayability of the game. Its great fun when playing with friends.

I never understood why they removed the random selection mode, along with other stuff that was present in the ps2 version but not in any of the next gen games.

I really don't think think they removed this to make space for other things, i don't actually know anything about making computer games but i can't imagine the simple team selection menu actually took much extra space up. Does PES even use up all the space on a disc anyway?

More likely it's because Konami are a bunch of numpties.

It was so simple and yet added to the longevity of the game so cleverly.

It wasn't just picking a single random team. You picked either 4 teams/nations or a region/league and the game would then randomly select players to make up a squad. You could press "randomise" as many times as you so wish. Doesn't sound much but it effectively meant you would never get the same squad twice. You could end up with hilarious teams of top players mixed with random crunk. It allowed you too also use players you wouldn't normally because they were in more obscure teams such as Juan Arango or David Odonkor etc who your mate might not have heard of and wouldn't pay much attention to. The "hidden gems" etc.

What i always liked about PES also was the fact you had these hidden gems etc so you could find teams where most the players were crunk and then there would be one stand out player. What i have noticed now is that if you play for a lesser team, according to Konami, you must be sh1t by association, so i have trouble finding my hidden gems now lol. Being Anzhi Makhachkala in FIFA can be pretty funny when your paying someone who knows nothing about football.

Just picking your squad/team became a game in itself. Sounds stupid maybe but the possible combinations and permutations of how you used this mode were endless. I know exactly what that guy is saying when he talks about having to have a certain amount of crap players per team etc.

We would often say you were only allowed 5 random selections each because you could press the randomise button as many times as you like, effectively waiting until you had a super team off Eto, Henry, Ronaldo, Messi etc.

It turned it into gambling as well and whether you should stick or twist and go bust with a team of crud. Do you stick with Henry and some shit Cbs or do you use your last press and risk ending up with nothing?

Believe me.

SO GOOD.

Same goes for World Cup qualifiers. No need for Konami to make a good game even greater.

The Random Select and the draught system would definetely make the game better IMO
Also the option to look at all the International players in a pool when doing an International Cup,So you can pick your favourites without needing edit mode

For FIFA you can use the FIFA team creator to generate random teams. Don't know if the teams in PES are the same as in FIFA.
