One of the best right backs in the country without a doubt, Gary Neville recently recieved the honour of becoming captain for a club he loves, and whom he has played for for such a long time. One of the main issues I want to raise here is his suitability to the captaincy. Does he have what it takes to fill the somewhat unfillable boots of Roy Keane?
Team contribution - First thing I would like to mention is that he contributes a lot to the team in general, both in attack and defence. So he has quite a balanced attack/defence ratio which means we are going to see him both at the back, fulfilling his defensive duties, and pushing up to aid the attack in ways that have become synonomous with Gary Neville
. 71 for attack and 79 for defence mean we really feel like were watching Gary neville down the wing, and we get an accurate spread of his play. This is of course aided by his aggression rating, which I have put at 78. This is one of the main features that aids him in his attack. With these three values now having the correct balance between them, we get an accurate sense of Gary Neville positioning
Delivery - One thing that full backs who are often required to attack lack is the ability to deliver great balls into the box. Gary Neville is probably the best crossing full back in the premiership and we see him time after time delivering great balls into the box from either deep or byline positions. 84 for long pass accuracy and 79 for long pas speed are two values which represent superbly the crossing ability of Neville, and which most importantly put him on the scale of ability with other players in the correct position.
Captaincy? - So the big question is should Gary Neville be captain? I Would have to say yes because firstly, he is the most qualified to in team to fulfill the role, and secondly, the reason some people doubt him is because he is being constantly compared to Roy Keane, and in my opinion not many people will ever be as good a captain as him. There will always be that element of doubt if you are expected to perform to such a high standard set to a predacessor. Lets look at the attributes which we always look at in a captain. Does he have good stamina and mentalitly. No. He has excellent stamina and mentality:laugh:. 89 and 90 respectively are to very high values and are just what we need from someone who is a captain. Next thing we would look for would be a great ability to interact with team mates. And Gary Neville has that. A team work rating of 87 is again, exactly what we would be looking for in a captain. Finallt there are two other features which I believe are very important in a player is asked to be a captain. Their consistency and their susceptability to injury. And again Neville excels in this. A 7 for consistency and an 8 for condition are spot on, and are two other assets to him being captain.

I've just put that into my game bags, tis looking good i'll play a couple of games and let you know my thoughts. Personally i don't like Neville but as long as he plays like Neville i'm not bothered keep up the excellent work.
keep up the excellent work.hey bagrunnel, i was checking out your stats (which are great btw) and i couldn´t help noticing the technique/dribble accuracy difference between drogba and viduka. In my opinion Drogba is a bit more technical player than Viduka. In your stats Drogba has 70 for technique and Viduka 88 which sounds a bit odd. Shouldn´t Drogba have thecnique at least 80 if Mark has 88?

Bagrunnels work is brilliant, but im just wondering why Neville has so high curling and shot power? He rarely scores goals.
Nevilles not bad, i've used him a few times , and at the moment so far so good

I think shot power doesn't necessarily mean that the player scores goals, it may also mean that they can produce powerful crosses. Curling is used in shooting and crosses, not just for free kicks. Bagrunnel will probably give you a better explanation.
