Could someone really do me a solid and help me out if possible....

So, I downloaded a new option file (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xN6t5QVJGLA) and as part of the instalation process I deleted my existing edit data AND my system data just to make sure. When I installed the new option file, all was swell until I wanted to add some free agents back to their teams. It was at this point I realised they weren't in the game any more. I can't work out whether Konami deleted them and after a new system data they no longer appear or whether the option file maker deleted them (no idea why).

Would anyone who still has them in their game be willing to export them into a ted file and email them to me so I can put them back in my game? The players I have missing, I think, are:

And loads more!! I use them for base copies etc. I didn't think Konami usually get rid of them, but maybe the system data deletion meant they went??

This is on Konami and was before DLC 5. I installed WE 2019 and right out of the box, Free Agents removed. Installed new install of US and UK version on another PS4 to test and same result. The Free Agents are on earlier installs on my games.

They didn't disappear with the install of DP5, they may have deleted them from system data. When I installed a new option file I deleted edit data and system data. So, effectively starting the game from scratch. None of those players are on there now. I'm hoping they may have been overwritten by the OF maker (Emerson Pereira) but I'll report back once I delete everything and try a different OF.

On fresh installs before DLC 5, they were gone. I had picked up a copy of WE 2019 back in February and noticed after I installed it that those Free Agents were not there anymore. So I took my USA and UK versions to a different PS4 and installed and same thing - those Free Agents removed.

At some point, Konami removed those Free Agents from the game -- I guess depends on the install date whether you have those Free Agents.

At least that what is happening on my fresh installs of the game.

I'm hoping they may have been overwritten by the OF maker (Emerson Pereira) but I'll report back once I delete everything and try a different OF.

You don't have to install an OF to see if they are still gone. After starting from scratch, go look at Free Agents and you will them already gone.

Okay, if what Buckshot is saying is in fact the problem, you'd need to delete the whole game. And then put the disk back in and launch before it applies any updates. You will be offline and the game will be exactly as out of the box. At this point go to the edit section and create a new edit save and only then apply the updates. So then when you launch the game again it will ask to back up edit data, say yes and don't tick those boxes for updating squads and all the players should be there. If there is someone in particular you are missing maybe if they were added with live update and removed, let me know and I can share.

Why do they do that?! I thought they kept the free agents nowadays. And it doesn't make sense anyway because some of the free agents are still there, just not all of them. Why get rid of some and not others? Why keep the generic ones at all but delete the presets?? Konami are a strange breed I have to say!

So, if I get what you are saying correct then if I do the following I may be able to salvage it:

- delete the game and all data from my PS4.
- Put disc in and reinstall (do I need to disconnect the internet when I do this)??
- Go to edit and create new edit data.
- Apply updates
- Close the game and relaunch
- Back up edit data but DON'T tick the boxes for updating squads

You are welcome. But no need to disconnect from the internet, this way all the update files can start downloading in the background.

It is disturbing that they do that though. Very fifesque. Like, "Why do you need free agents anyway? It's all about online now, and you can't use them online anyway, because we won't let you!" :brickwall:
