Defending through balls

Hello

I'd really appreciate some advice on defending.

I've played PES for 10 years but find the new 2013 version an absolute nightmare to defend. Every time i play my brother (who has also played for years) he just hoofs the ball up to Suarez in his Liverpool team (using players like Downing, Enrique or Skrtel - players that usually can't make more than one decent pass in 10 in real-life), and Suarez on receiving a perfect pass each time simply runs through and scores.
We are averaging 10 goals a game each... (20 min games).

Can anyone tell me how to defend this before i throw my controller into my Plasma out of frustration.

I was pretty good at the last version(s) and often had a score over 600 when i played online (and was always in the top division).

Now, I'm close to giving up this game completely as it's so frustrating watching my defenders run in the opposite direction to Suarez (or any striker) as he bears down for an easy strike on goal.

My only advice is to keep the shape of your defence by not trying to move them our of their position running after the ball or with the ball. Try to employ jonal marking by only moving them if the srtiker is in their teritorry and dont get dragged away leaving holes in front of goal.

After doing that, you can also hold the double team button for a teammate to go and pressure the ball carrier.

I have this problem ALL THE TIME. I'm a really bad loser, which makes it worse. I play my friend quite often and normally I will go a team the likes of cska Moscow and he will go the same team as always; Real Madrid, I spend most of the game slowly breaking down his defence to score a goal and all he does is tackle me deep in his own half and hold the 'Y' button then BOOM, a perfect through ball straight through my defence to christiano ronaldo's feet, then there's no catching him.

Whenever he uses Real, smack 'em in the head. Simple. I would if he was my friend. It really pisses me off whenever I constantly to be put against Real. I even have respect for players using Barca or PSG or City nowadays.

FIFA ordered, no more. Last straw for me last night, dominated a guy who had a 709 rating he barely made 3 passes when he went for auto lob ball through ball using Madrid and won 2-1. No more Madrid thanky god! O and I was through on goal and my CPU teammate ran into me and it was offside, I just switched it off joke.

Guys just listen to the advice above and practice it. People online have been playing this game constantly..... just learn how to play by practice and keep reading the manual! and DONT BUY FIFA!

If you follow PEStroll's advice, you'll reap wins in online mode once you master it. There are so many one dimensional players that becomes completely annihilated once you stop them that it will almost be too easy.
