Apparently Denilson is a class act and is a very highly rated defensive midfielder. He isn't the biggest (178 cm) but has good composure and distribution. Some people who have seen him play think he is a special player. However he is quite lightweight (68kg) but he is still young and can get stronger. Fabregas was considered a weakling when he was 17 but now he looks strong enough to play against most sides in the Premiership.

I haven't seen him play though, but I think we all will soon. Hopefully Denilson is a backup to Gilberto, keeping Flamini and Song out of the bench.

What's the problem with Flamini? I think he's a brilliant player. He has a fantastic mentality, he's flexible, he's still improving. He may not be overly tall or as technically gifted as Fabregas, but I'm confident that if we were to use him in central midfield he'd do a good job. His distribution isn't as good as Gilberto's but his work rate and tackling are easily as good, if not better.

That said, I'd have loved Mascherano to sign.

You an expect to see a yellow card from Flamini in every match he plays in central midfield.

Against Dinamo Zagreb our midfield looked solid again once Gilberto stepped in.

Very true...he's a bit of a tall Adebayour-type Attacking mid....but being physically good...he does a lot of defensive work as well like Viera in a sense.

It'll be nice to see how it all goes and who plays where...great to see we've got a different kind of headache...in having multiple players for each spot.
