Did the new patch save this game?

Guys,

I can't believe it but i think this new patch actually saved pes 2014. It can't just be me.

I've been very frustrated with the high defensive lines and the ease of through balls over the top. And the lack of Ai on the part of the CPU.

After playing 3 games, all of which is struggled through after going undefeated in the first half of my master league campaign (pre patch) I'm in AWE.

1) they've seemingly adjusted the power bar meter for passes and through balls, they are a lot harder to execute now. I haven't been able to play one guy through over the top since.

2) the CPU is a lot more aggressive. I've seen them press my midfielders, steal passes etc. IN SHOCK. I literally just witnessed Jefferson Farfan beat my CB, cut past another one and unleash a 35 yard strike into the top corner. THAT never happened before, i literally dropped my controller.

Note: I'm playing on PS3 for anyone that needs to know.

I have no idea if its just me but i think they've finally solved some issues in this game. I've been having an amazing time playing today.

Please tell me it's not just me and you guys see the difference too!

The new patch is already available here in America.
But it messed the OF I had and deleted it, so I didn't check if something changed.

I didnt bother to delete it because im already in a master league so it doesnt affect my option file. Try it out and let me know what you think.

You're right btw - It's because im in America I have it.

It has definitely saved the game, its changed big time, Here on PEN (a league im in) everyone is raving about the game (10 page long thread) and these are the same people who hated it previously and only played due to being part of that community.

The new faces in the trailer look so amazing ! i hope the gameplay has been polished off because despite the bugs and very frustrating bs you have to put up with i still enjoy parts of the game so i hope what your telling us is true and its been polished off into the game weve wanted !!!

Ive downloaded it and gone through all the players to see the new faces and they look soooooo amazing !

BUT!!

Im struggling to get to grips with the new movement and animations i cant actually pull off anything, i can string some passes together but i just cant seem todo anything affective enough to win a match :/

My first two games on MLO im rating 800 before the new patch, it linked me with a guy rating 304 so i thought okay a weaker player for me to have a little practice with (even though i had an hour in training mode to see the new gameplay) and i registered 13 shot with 8 on target and did not score a goal my opponent scores with his first shot on my goal? and wins the game with 2 shots and 1 on target? okay fair enough im not used to the new gameplay but thats really annoying.

2nd match i actually got linked in with someone on my friends list that ive been playing "Team Play" 11v11 with lately so in the pre-match preperations i quickly messaged him Goodluck GG and How are you doing in with the new patch? "He just replied not so good"

this is the first time ive played against someone i know in MLO and his rating is 367 while i dropped 14 points in my first match due to losing 1-0 to someone with a rating of 304 i thought this time ill making sure to score atleast one of my 12 shots per game BUT! guess what .. it was the same thing again im dominating possession smacking the ball at his goal but nothing seems to want to work he goes down the other end with reus hits one shot my keeper pushes the ball wide and it lands to the foot of xavi in the 6yard box for a tap in 1-0 again after countless attemps at his goal, luckily ronaldo and aguero on my squad linked up well in injury time and i got a last minute equalizer but i still dropped 5 points because of his rating being more than half less than mine in my first two MLO matches i drop 19 points because i cant seem to beat anyone running with the ball or shooting it, im not going to say the game its destroyed but the fact that after 6-7 months getting used to the game for them to change it this much is really hard to take now ive got alot of work todo trying to figure out the way to play it and most of all HOW TO SCORE! :/

1 positive ive noticed though the defenders are more aggressive and they do respond more but thats about it at the moment

I really care about my MLO raiting because ive had a curse of getting into the 800s ive got to 807 and never higher but now i know im going to drop drastically due to having to deal with this new gameplay.

screw the stats the game was epic! plently chances but im starting to get to grips with this new gameplay ive realise shooting you have to tap because the way the power has been adjusted the movement has gone abit oldskool feels abit more robotic but at the same time smooth in a way its like they taken out one extra degree angle from the turning axis to make it abit sharper so it feels abit like pes 13 mixed with abit of new pes14 the running speed is alot better it makes more sense to value now because in this 3-0 match alaba was trying to chase the ball from going off for a throw in and i had aguero behind him chasing it and he gradually managed to beat him to the ball as of before you had no chance in hell.

There still seems to be alot of crossbar action going on though regardless of the power adjustment.

Lol im almost afraid to say it but PES14 IS NOW THE BEST FOOTBALL GAME SINCE PES6!!!!! THANK YOU KONAMI!! LOL

Note: Theyve lowered the resolution so the graphics are alot less as you can tell in replays it looks like pes13 graphics but they needed todo that because old gen consoles Ps3 ,Xbox360 could not handle the fox engine properly so now there is no slow down ATALL!!! or LAG! its all gone completely.

And theyve removed the 360 axis turning so now its abit sharper and less cheap when you got someone running full speed and turning like a snake.

PES is Saved!!!

i was literally about to say this. Started a new master league and I'm in love. So challenging, so amazing. the gameplay is spot on. WOW. if this would have been the game they released in Oct it would have been a hit.

best pes next gen for sure.

a very good move in the right direction gameplay is fluid and fun shooting is improved (long range) but not easy to score. need shooting practice

I don`t know I liked it better befor the patch, know it feels more like fifa everything seems set to auto-mode. I`m not even sure if I still have to press buttons and it seems like the players have lost their weight.

I recommend you just keep playing and learn the new way to dribble and pass.

Try keep power bar low for close range shooting tbh even long range keep the bar below mid.

I know what you mean by not sure if you have to press things now but before there way too much pressing lots of buttons at the same time and alot of controller squeezing holding down buttons like it was a chor to get a player todo something.

I will keep playing, it is just that I really found it to be near perfect for me befor the patch and BAM they change it and I don`t think that this is the game they wanted to make but the game they made to stop the negativity towards PES14 by making everything easier and like football on speed - it feels like ice hockey to me right now.

the shooting is a major mess, i only tap the shoot button and it goes over the goal or on the cross bar...ridiculous

for every thing they do good (gameplay) they mess up another thing (shooting) it`s almost impossible to score.

yesterday i dominated my friend with 60% possession, 17 - 3 shots and lost 0-1 because shooting is so fucked up and he scored a really laughable bitch
