Hey dudes, Just thinking i haven't created a pes3 thread in general discussion for a while so here goes ;) , When we all had pes2 and where awaiting the release of pes3 did you expect pes3 to be better than it is now or are you amazed that they got pes3 better than you thought? Personnally i was happy with pes3 but I think they could have kept certain things from pes2 (graphics, goalie animations etc.)

pes3 is a lot better than i thought it would be.

i never had pes2, just pes1. i was late onto the pes scene. i never bought pes2 as i would have only wasted my money. this is becasue i wanted pes3 anyway.

I think we were all expecting pes3 to be perfect, so I would say that I expected it to be better.... but I'm still happy with the game.

PES3 is awesome. They improved on it from the 2nd one to a great extent. It’s much better, gameplay and graphics wise anyway, than I thought it would be.

I must admit to being blown away by PES3/WE7 when they came out. I was very impressed with the advances in Editing Mode (transfers, better flags/kits possibilities etc, don't matter anymore though as I am now patched up to the JB max!!)I thought the graphics/animations were much better than in PES2 (should have kept some of the goalie animations though!) and the way you could strike dead balls in play was totally new and very satisfying.

I have been playing WE7/PES3 since they were released and I still can't get enough. Some small things like the handballs and advantages not played get me a little aggravated at times, but otherwise a cracking game and a great improvement on PES2 in everyway. Roll on PES4!!

I wish they kept to smoothness of the pes2 graphics with the textures of pes3, The pes3 graphics are actualy worse than pes2's graphics -smoothness wise.

yeah I agree about the graphics but theres not much else that I wasn't impressed with when I first got the game. apart from the stutter bug which I barely notice at all now.

I remember back then, when the game wasn’t even released, one of the users (dannyboy, I’m sure it was him) had got their hands on PES3 before any of us. He use to post pictures and videos of the PES3 game on these forums. Anyways… He posted a video of a player stumbling when going in for a challenge. When I first saw that I was amazed. Now, when I play it, I hardly ever recognise the stumble. That’s because they’ve vastly improved on all aspects, gameplay and graphics wise, of the game. That is, in my opinion, the most important thing anyway.

The shooting felt better on pes2, The power when letting rip with Scholes was such a good feeling.

I felt very suprised by pes3 when it was first released because it was rally nothing like pes2. Completely different.
Felt like it was a complete diffrent company who made it.
Just imagine what pes4 will be like.

i didnt expect it to be this good. PES2 got to quick and it was too ease to take ppl on. I am glad it has gone back to more like the ps1 versions, but with better graphics. U score more nice moves than dribbles on PES3.

I agree that PES2 graphics were better. I hate the way players run on PES3!
Anyway, I'm thought PES3 would be better, more challenging, just my opinion though.

I think the graphics in PES2 were better (but not the faces) and the kit editing was also better in PES2 due to a bigger selection.

to me, the shooting in PES3 is shocking. if you get the power over about 1/6th of the power bar then the ball just goes into orbit. also, the players curl the ball the wrong way half the time, when it would be easier to curl it with the instep and score they paste it with their outstep and it hits the corner flag. grrr. perhaps im just a perfectionist who happened to notice this, but it really racks me off. other things are that say, owen can't outrun igor tudor or someone similar, which means he becomes less of a player. i hate unrealistic crud like that sometimes. they could sort that out in PES4 but i doubt they will, it makes it more difficult to score if you have no speed so it would be too easy otherwise i suppose.

I think that PES3 is greatly improved from pes2, from the animations (eg the players stumbling around and falling over aswell as better shooting animations) to gameplay (you couldn't even volley it properly in pes2) and with more editing options.

But i think as the games improve more and more, we will take more and more for granted and notice each games faults in more detail... but it's just something we'll have to live with and enjoy that game as a whole)

Compared to PES2 maybe, but dont forget that most peoples got it and play it some months after WE7, and from this angle of view PES3 disappoint me and many others as well.

Great game - not as good as I thought it would be but it is more realistic than PES2 but was more of a fun kick around....
