I had a wee google for the new DLC i had heard would be getting released in February or around that time. Found links into some people getting a little angry at how some DLC has been found through hacking on PC. The video i'm going to post shows Three new game modes.

Capture the Nuke.
Capture the flag(1 flag in the middle of the map)
VIP (Protect them, other team must kill)

This was only tried out on Favela and Afghan.

Luckily this is mostly PC faults but who knows, Capcom have had DLC already on Streetfighter4 and on Resi Evil 5.

Just posted this because some may find it interesting if not sorry.

BELIEVE
Remember seeing this before. I'm sure someone said the first DLC will be free, but I honestly can't see that happening considering I've never seen any form of Call of Duty content being free, always costs about £5. If all that is in the content are the above 3 game modes then unless I can strike a deal getting Xbox Points, I don't think I'll bother. I play Team Deathmatch 95% of the time, and there's a reason for it, I like it. The only game mode of the 3 that sound enjoyable to play is the VIP, but one game mode isn't worth £5.

Even if it's already on our console discs, there's literally no way of unlocking this content without modding the disc. If anyone wants to modify their console to stick their fingers up at the companies, go for it, but you'll never get online with it. Microsoft banned over 200,000 consoles upon Modern Warfare 2's release I remember reading due to modification. They're taking this sort of thing seriously.

Yeah i agree with you i'm sure they'd add some more stuff in their DLC but if this content is already on the disc this should be illegal. What ever is on the Disc should belong to whoever bought it. In that case if that is true it's a fucking disgrace.

Not sure I agree with that point of view.

When you bought the game, you bought it knowing full-well what features it had that were playable. You knew the game modes, you had an idea of the number of maps and you bought the game for the price you paid based on what would be included.

Just because there are additional files on the disc that will allow the game's content to be extended does not mean you have bought the additional technology and enhancements that the base files for the content contain the extensions for.

I'm trying to think of a real world parallel, to try and explain myself better, but I'm struggling a little.

The best I can think of is XML code - which is extendable markup language for the uninitiated.

It's similar to HTML, but the code is extendable - i.e. you can write further rules that allow the code to be modified with new tags. If someone wrote thousands of additional rules and created a package with that code that would aid my business, I would not expect them to give it to me for free just because some XML is free.

The developers will still need to make the additional content work on your disc by developing it and allowing you to download additional files to merge with the existing content. How you can say that it's a disgrace and that it should be illegal is, frankly, beyond me.

I think we'll have to agree to disagree, i'm all for if that's there but they still have to build on it then that's fine say they have 50% on the game but during release they've finished the other 50% for it to be complete. For me though those game modes seem already playable no additional files of massive effort. if it's just the case of needing a key to unlock it then they in my eyes are conning people.

I agree with Nifty here, I just think you're getting your pants in a twist over it all. Whether they're on the disc or not, they're clearly intended as future content. Maybe it's just a lot easier to release the content if it's already on the discs and they just have to enable it? If it wasn't on the discs, who knows, you might not get the content until August.
