Dribbling angles

In a game recently, I was going down the wing and had just used the
R1+R2 long dribble, and i was moving "in between" the dpad directions if you follow. After the long dribble, I managed to do a dribble similar to when you rapid fire R1 and moved in the same direction, but it wasn't on one of the dpad directions...this I have noticed really helped on your angles when you can't quite cut in at 45 degrees, but going straight ahead isn't what what you want. I have managed to recreate this situation in practice, but not very frequent. Does there happen to be a way to get this "in between" dribble to work every time?

if i think i know what your on aboutthen ya i can do this alot of the time, i think its like when your commin onto the ball andthe balls straight in front of you and you just press the 45 degrees on the d pad and you go with the ball ata an angle.

if i'm following u guys right, this is how u do what your on about . . .
while running using R1 quickly press R2 (keep R1 held) at the same time and you kick the ball ahead of u at an angle and follow it, it's a great trick to do people on the wing!

i have o idea if this is what u guys were doing but i tried lol

That trick does not exist in PES, sorry. And that is not what the thread deals with I think.

What the thread seems to be about is holding R2 while running with R1 and turning, causing the player to kick the ball far ahead, but at about a 22.5 degree angle, rather than kicking it straight ahead and far as is done when pressing R1 repeatedly or tapping the stick/pad forwards repeatedly while dashing.

EDIT: Nice video recounting all (I think) dribbles available in FIFA07

Not quite that, but there is a "version" of the r1 and r2 combined dribble, that goes on about the same angle, but at the dribbling length of an r1 dribble...i did it with just r1 only...

The plot thickens. :)

I suppose it could be able to be fast enough to fool the game into moving the ball in the "R1+R2" direction but not making it go as far, or you have discovered something new. Is it hard to pull off consistently? I have a slightly hard time making a mental picture of the move and what to press etc. Maybe a detailed description would be possible if you feel up for it? :)

Okay, I will try and explain it

1: Picture yourself dribbling, left to right, across the field

2: You are performing the R1 dribble as you are running

3: You push the dpad up, and to the right

4: In between the "up-right" direction, and the "right" direction, is a dribbling direction. This direction normally cannot be maintained, as when you release the dpad, your player "locks" on to one of the two directions you are in between.

5: With some combination of very quick and clever manuevering of your dpad, and I believe the R1 button, you can "coast" in this undefined direction. This same angle can be maintained by doing a scissors while your "in between" angles...but the scissors action slows down your dribble

I do it quite often...none of which I try to do.
If a way was found to consistantly do it, it would be very helpful on the wings..as when I made this thread, I was referring to a time when the angle created by it set up a goal that I other wise would not have gotten.
