Yes.
It is the Japanese version of the PS2 game which is easier to edit.

Actually very few of us are actually editing the game ourselves.
Most are just using other people's work like patches.

I think the patches would have to be made for WE6:I and I don't think there are any out there.
I may be wrong though.

WE7 is out in August.
Some would wait for that.
Some wouldn't.

It's up to each person.

If you do get, you will enjoy it a lot for a few months (if you don't have problems with editing that is).
But I'm sure you'll find plenty of help with patching on here.

Zygalski, you are right about WE6I patches. As WE6I shares the PES2 structure and format, and DVD base...

no, the patches for PES2 would not work with WE6:I....WE is a port of PES, yes, but the serial numbers in different parts of the game code are completely different....it's the same reason why X-port files for PES2 don't work with WE6:I

Just open it up in hex editor and edit where appropriate, so providing you made a patch in the right way it would work. Just like making alterations when burning we6i to cdr, some key numbers do need changing. Player wise I will admit I don't know, graphic wise you could replace them simply in PES2 and have it work with WE6I, so that kind of patching would be alright.

Oh, we are very patient. You cannot use the X-Port to apply patches, with the X-Port you can only transfer files from the Memory Card to your PC and vice versa. So you can use your PC as a huge Memory Card. To apply patches you need to download the patch, apply it to a clean image of WE6FE, then burn it on a CD, and when you have a PS2 with a chip, Slide-Card or Flip Top Lid you can play your patched version of the game. There are no patches for PES2, only for WE6FE. With an X-Port you can use option files, eg from codejunkies

SO if i was to buy an x-port....

Are there places online to download option files where people have done things like changed all kits and flags for you, and say, changed all teams to english teams for example, and changed all player models for you? Save me doing all the work basically.

I was wondering whether you need an NTSC compatible television once you have a patched version of WE6:FE, as it seems to come out black and white.
