Did anyone watch that tonight? Awesome. 10 goals in two games, but not against numpty teams, against Real & Roma. Incredible.

Only watched El Clasico, I don't understand how Real ever managed to beat Barça in the last few years. They dominated the entirety of the game.

You can't do much against that front 3, atm. Just got to wait till one of them loses form.

Messi was out and imho they played even better. He still is a bit short on fitness, from the few moments I saw he seemed a bit slower than usual.

Should be noticed that the last 30/25 mins was all about Neymar setting up a goal to Messi. This kind of relationship between them is proving fulcral. None is better/more important than the other, and thye all work together.

Messi still pulls rank though, but Neymar and Suarez understand that, so that's why they have done a lot better than Villa and Ibrahimovic, who wanted to play their natural game, but it's not allowed whilst Messi is there.

I don't think it's a case of "not being allowed" (I suppose you meant by the manager/club), it just doesn't work as well and, specially with Ibra, it's incompatible with their personalities. That's the whole point behind the discussion with Ronaldo going to PSG, if it happens Ibra will surely leave.

A well-known portuguese blog posted an article a few days ago with this sentence as the title: "Quem chega a protagonista de um Blockbuster não quer passar a actor secundário". Roughly translated means "Once you get to the top you don't want to leave", regarding Neymar taking the reins at Barça while Messi was injured. If it was Villa or Zlatan he probably would leave, but I want to believe Neymar will stay.

Especially apparent in the Roma game when Messi & Suarez each had 2 goals but Neymar took the penalty.

The chances of Mr Ronaldo stepping aside like that for a team mate, whilst on a hat-trick and continuously chasing personal records, would be slimmer than an anorexic Ethiopian.

Specially since he became a "Pauleta", and even more since he stepped down to "Shitty Pauleta" (not that it was ever a thing) levels.

From the 5 friends I regard the highest in terms of footballing analysis, 4 say and enfatize that Ronaldo is not only not the best player in the world right now, he might not even be on top 10 (I firmly believe this). And even if he was, I do not like what he became at Real, at all.

Back on topic. Imagine Arda in Rakitic's place. The croatian is good (best midfielder in europe in his last Sevilla season), but he might be the weakest player in the current team. And as you all know a chain's strength is equal to that of its weakest link. Most matches Barça won't have a hard time defending so a Busquets/Iniesta/Arda midfield should get along nicely.

Listening to Henry? Enjoy? :hmm:
No need for that. It was a very insightful clip. This is what I want to see from more pundits - talking about their experiences at a club and making it relevant to what they are picking apart.

I don't doubt that his words might have been interesting, but his tone makes him sound so unbelievably dull...
