Based on our time with the game we can tell you that ‘FIFA 12’ makes more real-world sense than anything we’ve grown accustomed to playing consoles and PC until now. It remains to be seen how resilient the new code is to unscrupulous players finding cheap goals or challenges, but the signs are good that the technology really does offer a level playing field for players to bring their own genius.
For us, our walk-away impression of ‘FIFA 12’ is that the goals were just so much more fun to score, reflecting the more dynamic build-up play and carrying momentum right through to the back of the net. Despite chortling at the sometimes hilarious collisions resembling scenes from ‘The Matrix’, when we were playing the game carefully without wanting to see guys crocked or red-carded our head-to-head games were electrifying.
