I'm a bit disappointed that the demo is only the 3 minute half/match setting. It just makes it so much more difficult to really get into and begin enjoying it. I've never really been a FIFA fan, with the last FIFA I really loved being FIFA '97. I bought FIFA 10 and quite enjoyed it initially, however the single player longevity just wasn't there for me to be engrossed by it. So the fact that the demo of FIFA 12 is so short, it's really not helping a decision whether the buy it or not.

I'm not really into renting games if I'm honest. I'd rather buy a game, and then sell if I complete it within a month or so. That way, I wouldn't really be losing much money as it's easy enough to recoup most, if not all sometimes of the money spent on the game.

It's just I don't feel I should have to buy the game to get a good taste of it, that's what demos are for. I've never been a big fan of rentals, simply because of the time constraints again.

I went onto the LOVEFiLM site first to see if they have FIFA 12 - as I know sometimes rentals aren't available until 2 weeks after their release date - at least that's the case with Blockbuster - anyway LOVEFiLM were offering a 14 day free trial. I thought I'd search online to see if there's lengthier options for LOVEFiLM, and there was fortunately. There was a 2 month free trial, however this was limited to just DVD rentals (still, it's very generous of them). Then I stumbled upon a pot of gold, in that I found a code which offer a 30 day free trial for DVDs, Blu-rays and Games for LOVEFiLM, plus a £20 Amazon gift certificate! This is no doubt due to Amazon buying LOVEFiLM at the beginning of the year, but even still, talk about exceeding expectations!

The latter because I enjoyed the demo, yet the price has been refusing to drop to a more reasonable sum despite it being somewhat of a short game given it's nature.

For sure. I print screened each page of the sign up process and saved the screenshots in case any problems arise in the future. It's always better to be safe than sorry. I've also set alarms and a notice on my phone calendar reminding me to cancel a few days before it ends.

Just need to wait and see now whether I'll actually be fortunate enough to receive FIFA 12 given it's a new release. I've of course set it as high priority but I'm still a little doubtful. It's a free trial though, so there's nothing to moan about. Worst case scenario is I'll get something lower down on my priority list such as a couple of Blu-rays.

Loving the club take over stories in the career mode in the game this year. Had a story there about a group of Russians wanting to takeover Sunderland and inject hundreds of millions of pounds into new players! I wonder if you get this for the user controlled team or if it's just the CPU sides that get these lucky takeovers.......could really do with one for my Everton CM......only had £6m to spend with the board difficulty set to legendary :(. Guess it's £6m more than what we had in real life though, lol.

Eriksen was a little bitch to me in career mode. He denied being unhappy, just that he was taking a little longer than normal to adapt and that he was sure he'd be fine, then next thing I know he slaps a transfer request in on 31st December.

Luckily Chelsea were foolish enough to come in a day later with a £30m bid :laugh:

Transfer Deadline Day is awesome when you have stuff on.

I don't know where Stoke got all their money from, but they signed Anelka and Aaron Lennon before the season started, then tabled a 9m bid for my Chris Smalling on deadline day. I rejected it, so they came back an hour later with an improved offer of 10m. This happened a few times until they went to 15m - I still rejected every time, but wow ...teams spend like crazy on this game.

EDIT: Also, I still can't defend for shit.

Really like this game. I got the defending almost instantly, it was attacking that was my problem. That looks to have clicked though, so good all round.

Started a career mode as Newcastle, signed Fazio from Seville(absolute animal), Vierinha from PAOK and Yannis Tafer from Lyon on loan with a future fee of £3m. Got a tidy squad now, although it does look as though players grow too quick.

Only problem I've got is the game crashes quite often. Never in game, only in the menus in career mode. Be that half time, before a match or in the actual career menu. Has anybody else had this problem?

Sunderland got taken over in my career. Their first signing since that was Ozil for £35m :/ Transfers do still really suck.

Man Utd sold Nani, Smalling and Hernandez. A lot more stupid ones happened too :/

Transfer deadline day is brilliant. I sold Fahey and realised I needed another CM, so ended up panick buying some german dude within the last 2 hours :laugh:

I've not had that problem, but I keep encountering bugs, mainly in the Arena or once the disc loads. It's usually to do with the control settings. For some reason, the buttons randomly change and I have to fix it everytime, but it stays correct once I've reset it, until I quit FIFA 12. Yesterday, I had no control of my arena player; he'd control himself!
