I use :x: for pressing, :square: for teammate pressing and :L2: for standing tackle. I'm getting better, but playing against the CPU on Legendary is so frustrating. Pressing the tackle buttons seems to also make the CPU avoid the tackle, so you mostly look like a muppet and miss completely, or give away clumsy fouls. I'm getting there slowly, but at a snail's pace.

I have more or less given up playing against the CPU as even playing against shit teams they always seem to play like Barcelona and once they get in attack they're like Messi, weaving in and out of my players like they're not even there. Some of the stuff the CPU manages to pull off is ridiculous. The problem is that the CPU walks around the pitch while I am running around trying to anticipate a pass which if missed leads to them making a simple adjustment to get past me. It becomes a nightmare when they get to the box considering how easy it is to give away a pen.

It's so annoying. I've dropped a level to World Class and it's the same. They'll pass around the edge of your area for ages. I was playing VP career mode in the Mexican league and a three star team had 80% possession after the first 30 minutes. I had to make my VP, who is now a CF, run back to win the ball back.

Something that annoyed me on FIFA 11, that still happens now, is that the CPU teammates are so slow to attack and hesistant to shoot, but if you sim a match (when your VP is rested/dropped), they'll score plenty of goals. It's as if you're supposed to do all the work.

Will stick to PES2012 for my football gaming, can't stand this game anymore, EA really fucked up this time.

Was anyone having trouble with FUT auctions last night? I would make a late bid for someone, the clock would count down and expire, yet when I went to my watch list the auction still had 10 seconds and other people had bid on and won the player?

I get that a lot when I use the console to make offers. Using the website seems to be better, despite the bid limitations.

Promoted into division 8 now, still woeful at defending after messing around with teh controls. Moved secondary contain to square, Jockey to L2 and that step in tackle to R2. Getting better as I go on tbh but still prefer legacy.

Hardly ever use x for contain as it's shit.

Jonno if you never use contain, use the step in tackle as X. Pretty much legacy defending right there, they're exactly the controls I use. Glad somebody else has managed to figure it out :laugh:

Yeah I actually did that yesterday and went down a treat, won two games in division 8 but then got ripped apart a couple times in the last game as barn was pesterinng me to go play Clubs so i'll blame him.

Getting slightly better at the game the more I play.

Playing on World Class to get gold achievements for my VP, it's amazing how AFC WImbledon are now Barcelona outpacing Young, Nani and Evra, as well as pinging passes 40 yards down filed and just being amazing while my guys can barely string together 5 passes without a shit pass.

Just played a string of online games there. 3 minutes into one game and my centre half (I'm Wigan) gets sent off, then after 25 minutes I'm down 1-0 (the other guy is Anderlecht). Game ends 4-3 to me. :smug:

I turned it off out of pure frustration, I was winning but there were times when I just couldn't get close to their players, sweeping passing movements that the likes of Messi, Xavi et al would be proud of

I switched my VP from box to box midfielder to playmaker and my overall's gone up 4/5 points. That was easy.
