The hardware is capable but EA won't spend the resources as they know that they don't need to.

i have a sinking feeling that the FIFA - Xbox connection will be carried over to other sports titles such as madden. Must do some research today. Bad enough EA has an exclusive license on the NFL, now they are going to staple an exclusive license on their own game.
