FIFA has stunned me this year, I found a gift for my birthday was FIFA 08 for my PS3 I recently got. I sighed but I thought I have to play it as it was a gift. When I played it, I found it has improved so much on it's gameplay, passing was better, player movement was better and most of all players didn't move like robots. The league is lacking badly with FIFA 09 EA will have to improve on the Season mode if it would like to beat PES.

I'm actually quite impressed with it, too. I have it on Wii, which is good for online and PS2, which makes up for the lack of game modes on the Wii - Manager mode, etc. It's one game I do actually play on the Wii. Even with the lack of game modes, it's not bad. One thing FIFA offers is the SPL and CC Championship, which is good for me as they're probably my two most favourite.

squad file???

When the January transfer window closes, will there be a squad file available to download to change all the squads around so it is up-to-date???

I just would like to know before I start doing what I did with PES6 for the PS2 and do the transfers manually.

Still, after January I will be downloading the squad file for sure so it is all correct. There is all the other leagues on Fifa not just the English leagues aswell , you know.

I HATE the passing and shooting on this game. van Persie always shoots with his right. Fabregas with his left. You can't pass backwards and the through pass never works. Manager mode is frustrating because after 4-5 seasons there are no young players and you have to continue with your own for 15 seasons. Some clubs are so underrated like Arsenal. Everton are rated higher than Arsenal and Adebayors overall should be at least 86. Fabregas should be 90 something.

Bought the game, played it a number of times, wasn't overly impressed and traded it in at Game in return for a card with credit on it.

The graphics were good as was the commentary but I just cannot get use to it. The passing is shit as is the shooting.

Much prefer playing the stylish Pro Evo on the 360 with HD settings. Looks superb.

That and Fight Night Round 3 are more than enough to keep me entertained ;)

Just 'couse this is a PES forum doesn't mean some of you have to feel disloyal playing FIFA. I mean, it's just a video game and It doesn't hurt to say FIFA 08 is better than it's PES counterpart for ONCE, one year is that too much to ask?
By the way this comment is only for some of you not all and just to add my 2 cents PES never changed much this years game being a downgrade with like 4 full leagues 1 or 2 being licensed and some extra's. I like the national teams' set up as there is a lot more to play with having teams like Angola, Cote D'ivoire, Israel and other playable Asian and African Teams which EA's game clearly lacks in.
I also hate the skatey style football which is getting really old really fast. Only good players with great dribbling ability should be able to look like they're gliding a bit, but have the feel of a player running.
