FIFA fans....?

Truth is, fifa 08 was better than pes 2008 last time round in terms of improvement, but pes was still a better game of football. thats why fifa 08 got more acclaim than pes 2008 cause it was better than fifa 07, where as pes 2008 was a step back from pes 6... still far better than fifa though in terms of gameplay!

One thing that is certain, FIFA will not be able to replicate the best moments of playing PES and I think alot of people feel the same.....

Going back to the old days with ISS pro 98 etc, those times were truly amazing and the addictiveness and joy of playing were as close to "crack" gaming as possible!

Maybe thats why these FIFA fans are coming here but what they dont realise is although EA are making great footie games now, deep in every PES fan is the knowledge that they will never feel the high they got when playing the classic Konami games when playing FIFA....

Thats why there hoping for redemption for Konami...

I agree 100%. I've been a fan since 2001. The only fifa I've played since then was last years Fifa08 (which i though was a step up but completely unresponsive).

I hope Fifa's gameplay is greatly improved (ie: I hit shoot button -> 1.5 seconds later i shoot). I wouldnt mind having 2 great soccer games. I know deep down though that I'll spend more time in PES based on what I feel will be better gameplay.

When it comes to multiplayer over net, I might spend a good amount of time in Fifa though ------> (10v10).

Altogether the soccer fan comes out on top. We get 2 soccer games. Choose and play away .

some great post here, agree that the earliest PES games had the best atmosphere, gameplay and were indeed 'crack' addictive...

drumroll...my latest FIFA vs PES comparison, PES gave us bullshit lies for only one year eg. PES 2008 whilst FIFA has given us bullshit lies and promises for 8 years eg. FIFA 2000-FIFA 08!

I will admit FIFA 09 is looking oK gameplay wise....One of my freinds buys fifa ( and he plays it alone for very good reasons ) but i might actually play the 09 version with him. The rest of us are all PES ppl and im in the USA too. But its only us foreigners that like it most americans are for FIFA...cuz they are i guess american and dumb lol.

I could almost swear that FIFA has never made a better football game then PES, and yet half the internet is talking like PES is the one that has to surpass FIFA. Wtf is going on here? I mean for some of you PES and KONAMI fans, you should really be ashamed. One version ( 2008 ) is not as good as it should be and is pretty flawed and you are automatically assuming FIFA will be better...while PES 4's gameplay is still better then FIFA 08's.

Ok so this war must end. Fifa fanboys won't admit anything bad against Fifa and to them Fifa 09 is the best and perfect (which no game is) and Pes fans dislike Fifa to death. So you're never gonna agree. So far I preferred Pes (Pes 08, I don't play it anymore because I'm bored of it). This year I'll decide by getting both games or at least try both games.

First of all play the games and then decide. You can say it's LOOKING the best game up to date but not it will BE the best game up to date. It's isn't even out. That's fanboyism.

Exactly, everybody is entitled to their own opinion. You could easily pick out the flaws with both consoles, but as soon as you mention them, people tear into you blindly defending the flaws even if you are telling the truth. The PS3 has slowdown, framerate, installation time, download time issues, lack of large games library. 360 had problems with overheating, fans breaking, disc drives sticking, lasers burning out, RROD. The same is true of both PES and FIFA each have their flaws and good points each to their own.
