The demo isn't actually out on xbox live marketplace atm and I think it's tied to Gamestation pre-orders.

Oh right, a mate of mine has told me it's Pacquiao v Hatton. :D He also said it's much faster and more skillful, and thinks it's better than the previous Fight Night.

Can't wait for the demo. I'm gonna ask him now how many rounds you get.

EDIT: You get 3 rounds.

Hmm, been playing the three round demo for quite a while and it looks nice, and has a good control scheme, but it bored me after a while.

I think I might rent it, but at the moment I'll probably just buy UFC instead.

Youre better off opting for the UFC, Jonno. Im basing this on the FNR4 demo, mind you, but I still expected it to drop my jaw, however it hasnt impressed me at all. I dont like the graphics and the boxers seem kind of cartoony I think.

Yeah, the graphics are too shiny and rubbery imho.

The UFC demo had me hooked and I would have bought it day one if it hadnt have sold out. I really can't see myself boxing 12 rounds with FN4.

Played the demo of FNR4 and thought it was quite good, couldnt knock manny out though but won on decision lol.

Naturally you cant. ;)

I dont want to make this an issue for discussion again, but Hatton doesnt match up to Manny's style, he would lose 8/10 times.

I wonder if that is addressed in the game, style matchups...

Judging from the FN4 demo it will be shit, the new analog control system is just weak IMO, fair enough it will stop button bashers - but I find it near impossible to throw decent combos...and also, if you get a guy into 'KO moment' (which happens with every other big punch you throw) and he tries to clinch - it's practically impossible to stop the clinch!!

UFC is a decent game I think I'll stick with that, however it pisses me off when you're battering the shit out of a guy & he kicks you once = KO!

Ah, the old Charlie special...

I agree with you about the combos and clinching. I was looking forward to the same game basically as FNR3, but with more boxers and a better Career mode. Sadly, they felt they had to do a Konami and completly change/ruin the game.

I doubt the inclusion of Mike Tyson could even persuade me to get it.

Wait, so you can't change the controls? That's muff.

It got an 8.8 on IGN though and they gave everything but the soundtrack and presentation a 9.0 or above, so I'm tempted to buy it anyway. Career mode sounds much, much better.

I got the game today and its very good, it is a shame you can't change the controls but I got used to them easily. Some of the ratings for the boxers are just ridiculous though.

u got yours already? shamone! i'm well looking forward to it, can't wait
to get stuck into this online world championship, i think omitting the old
style button punches will make the online mode MUCH better, might
see some good boxing rather than aload of 14 year old middle class white
americans pretending to be from tha ghetto and having eplieptic fingers.

i wish you could put the punch commands to the buttons instead of the analogue stick but i got used to it after a while.

i cant bring myself to fight tyson yet, not with one of the other guys i mean. i am waiting till my legacy fighter (me on steroids) gets equal with him.

so far i think it's as good as i hoped, i just haven't made corned beef out of someones cheek like you could on the last game but i think this is down to my guys punch power being low for now. i did give an opponent a small cut under the right eye which was satisfying

Its realistic like that. I hated FNR3 when I played online because you could tell when someone was button bashing. This new one has impressed me a lot though and it should, because they were given years to perfect it.

I think Ill be buying this game maybe tomorrow if all goes well domestically. Worth getting then after getting used to the controls?

Its tricky, but its much more flexible than 3's Total Punch Control. I just love the wide selection of fighters in this edition, boxing fans will truly love the game. From the likes of Tommy Morrison (Tommy Gunn from Rocky V) to Sergio Mora (Contender Champion S1). Just a bit disappointed that Benn and Eubank werent in but thats obviously legal nonsense.

I should be alright with this as I used to use the analog stick for Fight Night Round 3 and did pretty well. However, I'll probably wait for the game to drop in price or buy a pre-owned version as I'm not that desperate to get it that I'll pay full price. Also I'd like to see whether others believe it's worth getting after having played it.
