Have you tried restarting the machine? I know it sounds simple....

That aside, reinstall the game, don't apply any patches or updates and see if it runs. If it does, patch to 8.02, test it again and then apply the data update if it is alright.

Tried restarting, and just as I'm reading this I am reinstalling to try without the update

Just tried to run FM08 on my PC for the first time since installing it and this happens when I click on New Game:



Now I used to run this on a much slower PC with no problem. WTF?

I don't know if anyone still plays this game on here but on the off chance does any know of a decent squad update file?? I just want one with recent transfers etc...no stat changes or anything.

No chance of me moving to FM 2009, I'm still struggling with Pescara on FM2008! Attempting to avoid relegation from the Serie A for the third season running despite being written off without a hope!
