Does anyone have a reliable link to the 8.0.1 patch for FM2008?
I installed the game on my laptop last night and then downloaded said patch from here. However, an error message came up during install. I then ran the game and attempted to load up my save game that I had transferred from my old PC, resulting in the game crashing completely. Any help would be appreciated.
I've downloaded it. Tried to extract it from WinRAR to the 'db' file in the Sports Interactive folder but WinRAR brings up a diagnostic message saying it cannot create it and that access is denied. Have I chosen an incorrect extraction location?
That's a bit of an arse. I do believe the update is a self-extracting archive which will install itself in the correct location on the basis of registry entries telling it where FM08 is installed.
It has worked following a restart! Thanks for your help, yet again, Sweey.
One other minor thing - is there anyway of getting FM2008 to fill the laptop screen? I've checked preferences in-game, and that option box is ticked. However, there's a good inch or so gap around either side of the running program that is not being used.
If you've opted for full screen mode as opposed to windowed mode, it should automatically fill your view - it does on my widescreen monitor so it isn't as though it is inconsiderate
It also works on my widescreen monitor by playing in windowed mode and maximising the window.
I'm assuming your desktop resolution is a standard one, for example: 800x600, 1024x768, 1200x800, 1280x1024, 1600x900, 1680x1050
I wonder why I don't have that problem then
Rossy, you should be using the option of Flat Panel Scaling which is located somewhere in Start -> Control Panel -> Display -> Settings tab -> Advanced -> [your graphics card] tab. The monitor and graphics card should both be capable of scaling, you have to choose which, if either, will do so.
