I started off as Arsenal, signed Klass-Jan Huntelaar, Demy De Zeeuw and Patrick Vieria, won all my pre-season games then lost my 1st league game to Sunderland 3-2 :fplm:, best player so far has been Huntelaar, this guy is a goal scoring machine on this game.

How capable they are in that position as opposed to you having to look at their profile and click on "Positions". Nice little touches like that help a lot.

Just had a crack at the demo for the first and it's alright! The press conferences are cool and a great addition, so are the internal suggestions to your players. Browsing through seems fast, however it suddenly fucks up once I start a match.

The game view fucks up and goes really slow (on both views) and a lot of the time, there is nothing shown at all on the pitch. It just turns into a blank pitch but the match is still running as you can see on the bar at the bottom progressing.

I am quite concerned and confused whether my PC's spec isn't good enough or it's just something wrong with the demo which hopefully is resolved in time for the release of the proper version. Football Manager 2008 works perfectly fine on my machine :erm:

Is anybody else experienced anything like this on their machine? :fplm::no:

That happens to me on fm08..basically the game goes all slow just before a match, the old champ manager games used run even on shit pc's..and yet now it looks like you have to have a super human machine just to play a football management game :no:

I just picked up a copy of FM2009 from EB Games and because they aren't turning the activation on until the 14th of Nov (England or America time i dunno)..

The official release date here was the 13th of november.. so basically i can't play it for 2 days... not happy at all..

Had a look at some screenshots of the 3D match engine, they're disgustingly bad quality, and a lot harder on the eye than the 2D engine. I don't see how the 3D will improve your tactical ability... in fact it will make things like looking at your defensive offside trap harder. Is the 2D screen still available?

Yes and you can change it to 2d if you don't like 3d. I'll just watch the highlights on 3d to watch the goals.

Haha I kiss up to Prandelli, Rijkaard and Van Basten while startng violent arguments with whoever is at Inter.

Milan are over their wage budget, have £8m for transfers and virtually nobody available throughout pre-season (no Kaka, Ronaldinho, Pato, Inzaghi, Nesta and possibly Borriello and Senderos ( :fplm: )). That, coupled with the fact the tactic I've used since FM2007 doesn't import properly at all leaves me very, very screwed.
