First of all, I must state that I’m not sure if it has been covered yet. I did my search and didn’t find anything so thorough, but for a newcomer as you may understand I don’t have the time to read all the threads and posts. If it has been covered already, I’m sorry, and my credit goes to the OP.

Wise use of managers – Part 1

Unlike last year, on PES 2016 you could get your manager’s contract renewed for free. In order to make it happen you must accomplish certain conditions/goals.

Unfortunately, when you hire a manager you couldn’t know in advance what conditions it will be.

Anyway, some facts:
1st – Contract conditions are divided on 3 goals:
a) Nr. of points to accumulate on Divisions;
b) Nr. of points to accumulate on Divisions SIM;
c) Nr. of points to accumulate on Vs COM matches, aka, offline mode or farming* (Vs COM, Vs Com Cups).

* This year, the SIM mode is also considered farming because of the new peculiarities of that mode.

2nd – To see your manager’s contract renewed for free you have to accomplish with only one of the goals, not the 3 of them, so it’s an OR and not an AND condition;

3rd – The more expensive, the more Leadership or Adaptability your manager have, the higher the goals will be, i.e., more points you will have to accumulate to get the contract renewed for free;

4th – All managers have an initial contract for 25 matches.

Wise use of managers – Part 2

Wise use of managers – Part 2

TIPS & TRICKS

All of the 4 starting managers have a goal of 5 points on any of the 3 categories for the first contract renewal for free. Once renewed for free that goals/targets will go up for at least 2 points, i.e., if the goal was 5 points, for the next 25 matches of contract it will grow to 7 points.

BUT, all of importance, if you achieve for example on Vs Com matches 21 points, the condition for the next contract renewal for free will become at least 23 points on Vs COM matches.

So, some pieces of advice:

1st – Spread out your matches between the 3 categories;

2nd – Just fulfill the goal or at maximum surpass it by 1 point, because if not, sooner or later you will struggle to get the goal on any category and then you will have to pay for your manager’s contract renewal and it could be really high priced for some of them;

3rd – Buy 1 or 2 more managers that you like, preferentially similar to the starting one so that your team spirit and tactical fit keeps improving for your players no matter what manager you use, and divide the matches you play between them, so you could keep playing without levering to much the goal of one manager;

4th – If you find a manager (expensive ones) with a high number of points on the category of “Vs COM” matches, if it is good for your style of playing and the squad you have, then buy it, that will be your farming and offline mode manager;

5th – If you find a manager (expensive ones) with a high number of points on the category of “Divisions SIM” matches, if it is good for the squad you have, then buy it, that will be your farming Divisions SIM mode manager;

6th – Same way, if you find a manager (expensive and rare ones) with a high number of points on the category of “Divisions” (Online Vs Human matches), if it is good for your style of playing and the squad you have, then buy it, that will be your online mode manager;

7th – When you accomplish the goals/targets of Divisions SIM and Vs COM matches (easy on the starting manager, just 5 points), only remains the Divisions (Vs Human) to play. If you are not so good playing online Vs Human, then that’s your chance to try to get at least 5 points and get the feeling while improving your skills. Maybe you will lose some matches, but remember, you already have your manager’s contract for free because you accomplish at least one of the other goals/targets;

8th – Anyway, for any of the 4 starting managers you could achieve all the goals/targets in just 6 matches. But you still have 19 matches left on the contract of your manager and you don’t want to get more points so that you don’t leverage to much the goals/targets. So what you do? If you really want a contract for free without levering the goals/targets to much you will have to lose on purpose. If you are too worried with rankings, then do it offline, and play the “Novice Cup”, losing it (all the matches). You still get GPs for it (600 x multipliers for difficulty and team strength), but maybe not enough to cover your team cost per match. Anyway, if you use a white ball discards squad you won’t have that problem (remember to convert them to trainers when their contract reaches with zero matches left).

In the end, it’s up to you to decide and make the math if you want to lose some GP/coins paying to renew your manager contract (it could be really high later on) or you want to fail to get some GP from not winning all the matches.

How to check what stats will my player have when it reaches level 30?

You have at least 3 ways of doing it:

1) Online:
a. http://www.pesmaster.com
b. http://www.pesdb.net

2) On the game -> Go into manage your squad click “X” over the player you want to check and then triangle (playstation buttons, don’t know other platforms). If you want to check 2 players at the same time and compare them, click “X” over the 1st and then click triangle over the 2nd one.

Tips:

I have a team just to insert the new spins and the most empty as possible. Before I go to spinning I switch to that team and every spin is added to the team. Then I go to edit the team and using the technique explained above on 2) I check the stats of each new player and decide if I want to keep and develop him and so stack some more contracts on him or he just goes to the farm/discard team.

Scouts use and spin

Scouts use and spin

On this year’s PES, for each match played, no matter if you lose or win, you will get a scout (free agent). Scouts will go from 1 star to 5 stars. In theory, the more stars your scout have the more chances he have to find a player matching his specialty field.

It is controversial if you should combine scouts to spin or do it one at a time, but again here some facts:

1st – No matter what your opinion is, you should at least once spin 3 scouts combined at a time, because you will be rewarded 50 coins and some GPs (just 3 scouts of 1 star for example when you got them);

2nd – Scouts are divided on categories and on fields of specialty, and those latter couldn’t be combined together, i.e., you can’t use 2 scouts which field of specialty are skills, for example, one for “Dribble” and another for “speed”, or if you select one for “Region: Europe” you can’t select another for “Region: Africa”, it sounds incoherent anyway but on PES2015 it was possible;

3rd – Your starting scouts limit is 20. If you spin one at a time after 20 matches without spinning, for each match played you need to find space for 1 more new player, either discarding/converting into trainer one player you already have and that his contract finished or opening more player slots or even more scouts slots.

Some pieces of advice:

While nobody discovers any flaw on the game that permits combining some scouts to bring a certain player, like last year, imho, I would almost always spin 3 or 2 scouts at a time (I will explain later when I will spin 1 at a time), because for me I think it makes no sense to open a lot of scouts slots, at least on that phase.

How to combine them:

As you may have already noticed and as said above you couldn’t combine scouts of the same specialty field and after you select one the others will be grayed out.

1st – You should never combine different star ranking scouts. For example, one star scout with a two stars scout. If you do that your success ranking (stars) would be the ranking of the lower scout involved, i.e., on that example just 1 star, so your chances are lowered and you are losing stars and chances;

2nd – When combining scouts, the probabilities for each star ranking are the following:

|.............................| Chances of getting a player meeting scout focus |
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Star ranking scouts | YES | NO
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 star (*) x 3 scouts | 10% | 90%
2 stars (**)x 3 scouts | 20% | 80%
3 stars (***)x 3 scouts | 30% | 70%
4 stars (****)x 3 scouts | 40% | 60%
5 stars (*****)x 3 scouts | 50% | 50%
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry about unformatted table. Seems I can't do it well, because I don't know the tags for it on this fórum software and didn't see any button to do it.

From that, I should advice you always try to combine 2/3 scouts of 1 star, 2/3 scouts of 2 stars and 2/3 scouts of 3 star, because you will be losing nothing anyway and most of the time will get crap (white and bronze balls). On the other hand, spin alone the scouts of 4 and 5 stars because you’re using a quality scout and that way your probabilities would be 100% of getting a player meeting the scout specialty. Not necessarily a good player.

Anyway, of course, if you have lots of free player slots and most of the players you get from free scouts you discard after 10 matches or if you are in the need for new flesh for your farming/discard team, then nothing wrong on spinning one at a time, considering your chances of getting a player matching the criteria are higher and maybe even of getting a better player.

On PES 2015 I ended up with more than 700 free agents around 310.000 GP and some coins, around 600. I can’t spin more agents because I don’t have any player slots left, neither enough GP to open 5 more. Next 5 player slots would cost me 400.000GP. So what’s the point on saving free agents, especially the ones of low star rating?

This year’s PES slots for free agents (scouts) are not free and could become a problem in the mean time. I would prefer to spend my GP opening player slots than scouts slots, unless something comes out about scouts combination.

Hi!

Well, nobody commenting, nobody has anything to add or disagree, so nobody cares and so no point on continuing this thread.

i got a 1 star agent for under 24 yr olds and got eriksen so it really doesn't matter if you combined them it does not prevent who you'll get.

I think the problem could be that not that many people play MyClub, if you look at most of the posts from users I think ML or some other mode is preferred.

Personally, I think your post is excellent and contains some great information. MyClub is wonderfully and horrible at the same time but ultimately I keep coming back for more. Struggling to keep my head above water is so satisfying (and frustrating) and because you only get one chance at this, you can't simply reset and say "Ok I want all my points back" doesn't happen. The mistakes you make stick so the learning curve is long and steep but when your work pays off it can be very rewarding - one of the problems I have is juggling the stamina of my team as well as the cost, some high-maintenance players I simply put in reserves if their contract expired and I have a full stamina replacement, to keep costs down, I also only train a player the moment I've renewed their contract again to keep costs down (they may level up and so the contract will increase!).

Keep up the good work, when you play this mode you really need all the help you can get and I don't say that lightly, its a hard old graft.

Mate, I never said it will guarantee you will get a better player, in matter fact I said the oposite.

Please, read again what I wrote:

What I was talking about is that it is important that you keep your scout list low so that you don't have on the mean time to spend huge quantities of GP to open slots to simply play a match when your scouts list gets full. So it is important along the way to get rid of some uninteresting or too much repeated scouts combining them 2 or 3 at a time just to free the list and open space for more that will come when you play.

I hope it clarifies now.

Just my two cents:

It's not the only way and certainly not the perfect way.

In respect for stamina I've build 4 teams all of Level 1 (White, bronze and 1 or 2 silvers). Two teams for each manager that I choose for goal. Two teams, one for each manager, are for SIM games and I choose for that teams the best "Team spirit" players. The other two teams are filled with discards (players I've got from free scouts and that I don't want to keep) and that I call it farm teams. When the contracts of that players run out I discard them or convert into trainers. On the other hand, I play alternatively with those teams, which is to say, I play a game with the SIM team and then I play a game with the farm team. When a team is playing the others are recovering stamina. The same applyes to play online, but that is another story.

Now, why two managers with two teams?
This is because of the conditions of managers for contract renewals. When I don't want to make to much points with a certain manager on SIM games, for example, I start playing with the other team with the other manager, and vice-versa.

In respect to teams costs: When you select players you like and want to keep and develop you should stack them with maximum contracts immediately when the price is the lower possible. As soon as he develops and levels go up, so does his price for contracts. On the other hand, you shouldn't play consecutively with all your stars on your teams because you will go bankrupt very soon or have to farm a lot.

In respect to mistakes and regret, I've registered 2 PSN accounts each with his own MyClub squad. On the seccondary one I do my experiences and things I may regret.

^^This one is a great post.
Also, I think that forum like this one are way less popular than they used to be, Youtube and other media are quite literally littered with tons of lets plays and video series that people can consume in their online time. So, even though what you've here is a great guide there are very few views and even lesser comments. There is something to do with a lot of people preferring video guides to text ones. Keep up the good work, I'll have a look here if I finally end up getting the game.

Great Thread has helped me a lot so thank you!
One thing that has just got me stumped is this... I brought mourinho as my manger arpund a month ago, paid 400+ coins for his services...I completed a couple of contract goals for him and renewed his contract for free on 2 occasions. However on the 3rd contract I didn't meet all the goals and his contract was not renewed for free, I was asked to renew his contract via gp 8800 or 220 coins... I didn't have neither so I decided to wait and use my other managers until I raised the funds..... So all good until last night I looked on my managers list to renew mourinho's contract and HE WASN'T ON MY LIST! He has gone completey... I had no idea you had to renew the contract then and there or you lost the manager, I thought he would stay greyed out until you could renew his contract... So now my 1st team is managerless all because Itthought like you can do with players you can do with managers... But you can't, and now I have to save up my coins again to get a decent manager, to be honest it kinda soul destroying and the honest truth is I don't think I can be bothered to farm for this or play any other way.... Anyone have any suggestions before I switch off this game mode for good?
