Form Arrow indicators

Not sure if this question has already been answered but here you go anyway;

Form arrows, anyway we can improve them? Majority of time my players are purple and it does my nut in.

The form arrows change a lot more drastically in 2013 and after every game. It just seems more random this time.

It doesn't seem intuitive, but I prefer it this way. I hated having a player in shit form for weeks.. this way you still have to rotate but players won't rot on the bench.

It'd be better if they just ditched the idea entirely and come up with a better system.

Agreed Ali
Van Persie goes from banging in a couple a goals against Everton to purple arrow the next game so I drop him. Same for my defenders. Only player that seems to stay above blue is Cleverley

Yeah, pretty sure the system is random.

I won 3-1 away from home only for my entire starting XI to be purple/blue in the following match. Needless to say, I struggled at Carrow Road.

I don't find the blue arrow to be too bad, providing you keep things simple. I drop the purple ones though.

no the form arrows are great cos it stops you picking the same team all year , in fifa you can pick same 11 all season , no one plays the same 11 in real life , arrows stay

I agree that you shouldn't be able to pick the same team every game, but they're still random. The accumulated fatigue system should be more effective, that's all.

Does anyone remember (going waaaay back here) when they used to have smiley/frowny faces instead of the arrows? Going back slightly less, they used to have a white arrow instead of a purple one.

Yeah I remember them from the old ISS games, were they ever in PES?

oh god yes them were the days! Form is too random especially when your playing away from home! My team is always decimated with purple arrows in away games its nonsense really!!

I don't believe so. I only really remember them from the ISS Pro 98 demo (didn't own the full game). First one I owned was ISS Pro Evolution Soccer on the ps1.... I can't remember if they'd moved on to the arrow system by then though.

So many of you people brag about "..I have played since ISS 1 on the commodore 64..." or whatever. It is appalling how many of you can say that form is random.

I have been playing since PES 2008, and I know for a fact the the arrows are NOT COMPLETELY RANDOM. There is a stat called "Form" or "Condition" or similar (I have the German version, its called "Tagesform", or similar). It is a value between 1-8. The greater the value, the greater the probability that the arrow will be better.

There you go, it is not completely random, Konami gives you control over the probability of the form, with this stat.

True, in that sense it isn't random. You're right.

The point that members are arguing, is that it's not based on performances on the pitch, which is perhaps the method that Konami should try and move towards.

I agree, the current method of form arrows is not ideal.

I also worry that, if Konami try to integrate an intelligent form algorithm, they will screw things up and we will end up with permanent red arrowed Messi's and Cronaldo's online.

They would have to nail it perfect with such a system, but Konami have not been known for this.

Good point. I've always argued that they should remove the arrows from online matchmaking. In fact, in PES 2011 where I only played in lobbies, I created rooms and made the form arrows stay on regular (ie green).

It just gives a random unfair advantage to some players, if their only good player is on red, and yours is on purple.
