This is from the old games so it doesn't include all the stats but it should give you a guide

Players form

I understand how the arrows affect players form.
The question I have is this: is it worth substituting a star player who has a blue or purple arrow with a mediocre player who has a yellow/red arrow? In other words, is the form based purely on mathematical parameters, or does it also take into account other factor such as “opportunity to play for the first team”, “freshness from not playing in many games”, “excitement to be given the opportunity to play”, etc?

If it is just mathematical parameters, then I see no reason to substitute a star player even if his form is low, because his rating at the low form will still be higher than the high rating of a mediocre player.

Also, what is that thin white line under the player’s rating. There is a thicker line (blue) which I guess shows stamina / energy and a thinner white line underneath that. Any clue?

Thanks

Personally, I tend to drop players with a purple arrow. Whether it be online, ML, or just exhibition.... unless the only players to replace them with are absolutely dross in comparison. With a blue arrow, you're not too bad. I would normally keep them in with that if they were a star player.

BTW, I've noticed you seem to make a thread for almost every question you have. It's always worth checking if there are similar discussions already happening, then post in those threads. Just helps keep the forum tidy.

the blue line is to show who you have control of and the green under is stamina , green good amount , red low amount

Ali, I take your point regarding the creation of threads when similar one exists already. Thanks for moving and incorporating in this thread.

My question was regarding the colour coding that you see at the Game Plan screen, i.e. you can see the player's name, then underneath you see two lines. Often time the lower of the two is not even displayed, but for some players you can see a bit of white. I don't have a screen shot to show you what I mean and i have not found one on Google Images, but I will try to take a photo next time I play.

If I have another player for the same position, I NEVER field a player with a purple arrow, and will only play one with a blue arrow, if there isn't someone half-decent I can swap with.

Why is it that if you select a sub their rating becomes lower once dragged on the pitch. Say I have a LB on the bench who is 70. I use him in place of the current LB and his rating becomes 60 despite his form arrow being better than the player I have just subbed! ANy idea?

The stats only drop for me when they aren't played in their preferred position. Player might be able to play LB, LM and WF but they will only have their full stats in one position.

Looks like somebody flunked math class .. lol ..

I'll tell you why it matters ... I always play with strong strikers ... Such as Drogba who has a Balance rating of 95 .. which makes him exceptionally strong .. which also goes well with my general strategy of scoring goals and winning

Now .. Lets say Drogba has a purple arrow in a particular game .. but .. Gervino, who has a balance of 78, suddenly has a Red arrow ...

If Drogba's balance is now 18% less .. that means his balance is now 78 .. But Gervinhno's Balance is now 87 .. Because he gained 12%

Now the difference between 87 and 78 is 9 .. and 10 1/2% of 87 is 9 ...

Which means that My Goal scoring chances have now dropped a little over 10% ...

I am now 10% LESS LIKELY TO SCORE GOALS AND WIN :shocking:
Hmmm .. so you tell me if it's worth it .. I would say it is ... But then again .. I also stayed in school .. LMAO ;)

Long story short .. Play players that will help you win ... not because of how much you like them in real life ... you don't control them in real life .. but you do control them in PES .. so if they CAN NOT help you win on a particular day ... Tell them to keep the bench warm and be ready for the next game .. Hahahahaha ..

Oh and By the way 78 is about a C+ ... which would be considered .."Mediocre" ... But .. Mathematically .. The mediocre player comes out on top depending on the day ...

You may be a little rude, but a perfect explanation how it effects..
