Forward of the year and I don't know why?

Has the game automatically been kind to me or something? I have just found out that I have won the UEFA award for Forward of the year for 2012-2013. The previous season (which covered late 2012 and most of 2013 of course) was very hit and miss. I scored 24 goals in 27 appearances for Calcio Catania in Italy so that was fantastic, but then I moved to Atletico Madrid in January. For the remainder of the season, I played 6 matches for my new club, scoring just 1 goal. All in all, that amounts to 25 goals in 33 appearances. Obviously that's very good, but now I have just joined Aston Villa in the summer transfer window. Does it make sense for me to receive the award after only having an excellent half season and playing hardly for the second six months of the season? Also, I've had trouble settling in at clubs and I have now played for 3 clubs in less than a year. Is this Forward of the year material? I suppose It's just based on the 25 goals in 33 apps overall?
