Question, if we push the right stick in a direction to make a player run they NEVER sprint.. is this normal? I think konami is digging their own grave, i still hope that they come back but the disappointment gets bigger every year.
You have to push the "Sprint" button. Most of the time I hold the "Close Control" (even without the ball) button to save energy.
yeah i'm done. i'm selling it. I've been buying sport games since 2000. I've never seen scripting this bad in a game. ever.
im glad I didnt pay the full price and that this shop in Sweden released it for 19 Euros on launch day lol! this game is still the same.. disgusting. they add scripting to regular club online division. whats the point of playing human vs human and add scripting? whats the point? the demo was smooth online no scripting.. they dont know that by adding scripting they are hurting their company.. it will get worse and worse
konami still dumb enough not to give an option to turn off live form in online friendly lobby or change arrows..
Yes at least last year you could get respite from fakeclub with a more level playing field in Online Divisions, but not this year. Online friendly is the only mode left which is best player wins.
Its not a football IQ test anymore, year on year they go further away from a football test, its a test in overcoming a match artificially balanced by all sorts of handicap and phase programming. The skill gap is almost non existent now, and a fifa player with 30% winrate could easily pick up a controller and beat me in myclub, despite me having 75% win online divisions last year and playing pes forever. Only the top 1% of players can overcome the fakeness.

I know this isn't much of a consolation but here's what I had to do...
I have adjusted every team's game plan in the Prem & Championship (for my Master League Campaign) to see if I can screw the AI's scripted cheating ways. And I seem to have done so...
If anyone is interested, try changing an average team's tactics to the following, then play a friendly against them:
Change the opposition's tactics to:
Fluid Tactics
442 Formation
LMF & RMF when IN Possession - Then push these players up the pitch to LWF & RWF when OUT of Possession.
Change the Defensive Instructions for Support Range - to Spread out the players as far as they can go.
It makes a real difference!
The problem I face now though, is the LIVE UPDATES as they reset all of the team's tactics every time you update.
Remember the goalkeeper bug in PES 2016? I upgraded all goalkeepers for European clubteams(including CL&EL) and International teams(countries). Also I made most dedenders and midfielders more aggressive & tackling skills so the opponents AI would conceed more fouls.
I even shared my option file here @ pesgaming for offline gameplay. It had changed the gameplay immense! Still playing it from time to time.
And Im gonna try Fifa19 but when I'm not satisfied I ll go back to PES2016 on PS3 this year. For me it was more fluid than 2017 & 2018.
Thats the annoying thing with PES every year; they ll make some good adjustment but they ll lose other good things and f#ck up a few other things.
I feel that the "Super Cancel" button combo may be the answer to a lot of the issues.
I complained recently about failing to out-jump lower rated, shorter (in height) AI players. I had a response saying "You have to Super Cancel in order to manoeuvre your player in front or behind the opposition in order to jump for the ball!" - What a joke! The next DLC needs a patch to fix this!
Just pre ordered fifa19.. ill keep pes 2019 but the diseppointment is too big.. ill still hope that konami fix the extreme scripting.. every goal cpu scores is the same.. a low pass to the centre and you know this ends.. i even tried with 5 defenders and 3 dm and even that doest fix it

Even the super cancel broken when you're in header battle this year. Unlike last year (and the years before this) that your positioning with super cancel before the header battle really rewarding, this year I find even when I already use super cancel and put my player in front of the opponent, somehow many times the opponent still managed to win the header.
we can defend this as mentioned by someone above.
However, this is not the problem of win/loss, just wonder why A.I. has no other style? why every attack same no matter which team? also why the referee so unfair?
sometimes I don't feel happy when score, because I feel that A.I. let me score intentionally! they can defend me but just give me a way to score
