Fuck it, i've just got a whip in Skyward Sword that you control with the movements of the wiimote. This is Indiana Jones shit right her.

GOTY confirmed.

Convenient given that you don't like Indiana Jones that much.

Having not played Skyrim yet my vote goes to Call of Duty, outstanding single-player and the survival mode is painfully addictive. Just a shame the Spec Ops Missions aren't as good as last time out.

The games i've played on that list properly are..

L.A Noir
Only just played this recently because it's only just been released for pc.Really is revolutionary the facial expressions for video games.Scary at times how realistic the characters are.Still not completed this game yet.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Good game, but it's just the same old shit again.

Portal 2
What an amazing game this was.
I never played it first time round , but an amazing puzzle game .
Steve Merchant was bloody amazing in it:lol2:.

The only game i'm gutted about having not played yet on the list is GOW 3:(.

I've only played LA Noire, Forza 4 and MW3 from that list.

Of the above three, I'd say LA Noire stands out as the most enjoyable experience.

Where's Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 though? :joel: In all seriousness though, it's better than the Little Big Planet series.

Have you even played LBP? I'm not saying it's the best game of the year, but I've had it for 10 months, and am still playing it now. Can't say that for any other game. Certainly deserves to be one of the poll options. Personally, I can't believe that AC:R is on the list!

No. No it's not. :folarm:

Honestly, I only put that because DJ Clue and Bammers mentioned it. My reasoning for the poll options were mainly critically based - the best received games of the year (minus mobile games & DLC etc). And if you're wondering where they stand:
Skyrim - 1st
Portal 2 - 3rd
Batman: Arkham City - 4th
Skyward Sword - 5th
Uncharted 3 - 8th
LittleBigPlanet 2 - 9th
Gears of War 3 - 12th
Forza Motorsport 4 - 13th
FIFA 12 - 15th
Deus Ex: Human Revolution - 20th
LA Noire - 23rd
Modern Warfare 3 - 24th
Battlefield 3 - 32nd
Sminky's Killzone 3 - 41st
Assassin's Creed Revelations - ...60th

:cringe:

What's wrong with LBP 2? :realmad:

It's essentially LBP1 with a few add-ons. I suppose I'd have enjoyed it more, if I hadn't played LBP1, but, to me, it just felt like they were trying to make more money off the back of the success of the first LBP. I got bored of it veryt quickly.

Like how AC:R is just AC:B with a few add-ons? :hmm:

LBP allows you to create platformers. LBP2 allows you to create platformers, RPGs, rhythm action games, retro remakes, top down shooters, movies, music, even board games for crying out loud! Sure, if you just play the story mode, there isn't a great deal of difference. Even I've managed to create Checkers, a Battleships remake, and a Snake remake (with multiplayer and powerups and shit)..... and I'm an idiot! I think that's slightly more than a few add-ons if you ask me.

@Haribo, what are the missing games in the top 10?

BELIEVE
I've cast my vote, for LA Noire.

Of all the games that I've played through this year, I was probably the most captivated by LA Noire. The setting and environment were quite wonderful, and the game itself played incedibly well. There were aspects of the story that became a little repetitive, but overall, LA Noire delivered quite a brilliantly unique experience.

The facial expression technology really added a whole new level of realism and emotion to the game, and while some of the multiple choice investigations were a tad limited, it was still a game breaking new ground, and that in itself was quite exciting to experience.

I've not played enough of Forza 4 to really make a solid judgement on it. From the small amount I have played of it though, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The different interiors were gorgeous, especially since I use the cockpit view to race on Forza. I quickly became attached to a classic Alfa Romeo, and I guess that's the beauty of Forza. I think, upon finishing Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7, I may return to Forza 4 for a short while until I hopefully receive WWE '12 for Christmas from Santa.

I think it's possibly too early to really say regarding Modern Warfare 3, but thus far, it's not provided a great deal to suggest it deserves the 'Game of the Year' title. With distinctly generic, average maps online, to an almost identical feel to Modern Warfare 2, except being a touch smoother.
