I mean what the hell is wrong with KONAMI?
They frickin had it with PES 2011, why the frack change it?
I am super pissed off right now.

The -2 Game Speed is totally broken, useless...The game is soooo fast it is nearly unplayable for me...The game mechanics also break down at -2.
So disappointed KONAMI.

KONAMI needs a math lesson, they can't frigin split the game's speed in 5 levels !
-2 speed was life like on 2011, not its more like -1 on 2011.
CANT YOU FRICKIN MAKE -2 SLOWER SO PEOPLE LIKE ME CAN STILL ENJOY THE GAMEPLAY???????????:realmad:
ITS LIKE PING PONG ALL OVER AGAIN......:((((((

I like the gameplay to be quick and fast but even for me I feel PES2012 is too fast, I tried -1 and even -2 yesterday just to see what its like and they still feel superfast. Online games with no lag get so fast that its hard to play tactical, it becomes a back and forth shootout. I wish they would tone down the speed of the game, I don't know why they would make it so darn fast. Great gameplay but too fast IMO! Maybe they;ll patch it??

What camera do you use? It makes a huge difference. NEVER USE LONG camera, use wide, the game seems alot slower. Trust me.

As for the overall speed. I do not get the complaints. i am playing the PC version at -1 and it's slower than pes 11 without a doubt.

yet with -1 or -2 speed passing becomes unbearably slow. But players skate with 0 speed. too much tradeoff and no winning solution.

I'll switch to -2 speed and close/medium camera, I find the games a little more bearable that way. That said on ML PES2011 I used +2 speed and - paradoxically - found it easier to compete with the top player AI

I sincerely hope they do so. They definitely should slow it down.

Thanks dude, it really works to some extent. Slows it down a bit.

It's like the average distance per dash is increased, meaning you get from A to B faster …it’s like the players are on ice sometimes it is unbearable.
The other bugging issue is the odd sudden over population in some sections of the pitch mostly at midfield, even though I play wide, the game somehow drives the players through the middle more often than not. Gets crowdy too often. maybe its the pressing options??

Here is the thing I noticed regarding the game speed. I started as everyone with 0 speed and quickly realized that is too fast and settled on -1. I played on -1 for a while and started ML with classic lineup. I played half a season on professional and struggled a lot. There were matches when I for some reason would get wiped out 4:0 or worse. I learned how to play new defense system etc, but still was losing. Then in the middle of the season I decide to experiment with the speed setting and put it back to 0. Right after that I had 3 0:0 draws and the 4th game I scored last minute miracle through ball and won 1:0. So it was clean sheet 4 games in a row from nowhere. At the same time I noticed I could not score because it was too fast, but in defense it was easier to close down players because I felt my players where more agile. I feel the gameplay is affected by speed setting. With -1 it is harder to defend, but more time to think when attacking and with 0 it is easier to defend but there is too little time to be creative in attack.
In other words speed setting does not equally affect cpu and human player. I hate it. I dont know what to do. Can it be just a coincidence that I had 4 clean sheets on 0 setting or there is something broken? Has anyone noticed similar correlations with speed settings or I am seeing things?

very interesting, when I tried -1 speed yesterday I got this same feeling. I do find it hard to score on 0 and its mostly because of the speed of the game, I feel like Im rushing, especially in the middle of the park where there is congestion, if I attack on the wings I find it much easier to score. Defensively I learned how to close off the angles even at the speed of 0 and only really allow goals on set plays or corner kicks or crosses, anything coming down the middle is genearlly stopped, even vs Barca or Real and fast teams. My online goals vs goals against is 1.54 to 0.98. Good post by the way, I wonder if others feel the same.

from another message board... maybe this could help us sort our speed issues??

-----

Jon Murphy tweeted me back saying that a few people have raised issues about the speed and we should try clearing the cache. I don't have the game yet so I don't know if this helps...and for what modes?

------

I dont see what help clearing the cache would do?! on PC or console?
if the game speed settings are stored locally on the PC/console, as part of the user profile then yeah maybe, maybe the settings file isnt updating when you change the speed.

But i play on -1. 0 feels too fast and arcadey whereas -2 feels too lethargic and takes away from the responsiveness, I find -1 just right, pacy gameplay but slows down when needed, still responsive but not arcade like. obviously just my personal preference.

------
-1 for me.

I think Calcio meant the online speed. There's something wrong with it. Cuz sometimes the match really plays at fast forward speed, like +2. However, I found something really weird. If I pause the game during the online match, switch to pitchside cam, the speed automatically becomes normal. And when I switch back to wide, its fine.

I'm not sure what the real issue is, where the game speed warps and then comes back to normal. Sometimes, the speed just changes by itself during the match. Really strange. I'm talking bout online here btw.

and one last one :

Ah sorry guys - I just mentioned to him that people were having issues with gamespeed and didn't specify. He might be referring to clearing the cache so that any patches can be applied properly or perhaps he did indeed mean the online speed.

I saw a tweet from Adam saying that Konami are aware of gamespeed and controller setting issues online and are looking at them.

The problem - as I see it - is that in terms of frenetic football, Konami seemed to have based the game on the Premier League, quick and aggressive. In truth, most of us want to enjoy the international approach of ball retention and more considered build ups. I assume that all CPU teams are playing EPL hell for leather? If so, that's a shame, I want to play as an Italian team and enjoy some old fashioned catenaccio. I know not all teams in Italy use it ... but still. I base my game on a strong organised defence.

The game speed is fine....some of these people are just being dumbasses.

Instead of flaming people because you disagree ... who incidentally posted their opinions and views ... why not actually make a counter argument?

nah, I think its just fast and needs to be toned down via a patch.

It's really weird. I want the game to be as sim as possible, and yet can't win a great deal and see lots of AI cheating on -1 and -2. BUT, when I put the gamespeed to it's default, which is ultra ultra fast I grant you, I started to win. Beat Arsenal 2-0, then Swansea 3-0.

This game is mad. Trouble is I want sim football more than results, but then I get beaten by scripting. I really don't know what is happening. Surely the slower the game speed the EASIER it should be for me to defend cos I can see all the options open to me in a slower way?

Can somebody please explain, I'm going to bed every night baffled by this game!?!

The game physics are fucked up end of.
Passing and shooting is slow as hell, particular shooting, but ball control and movement in space with the ball is over the top.So when you change the game speed it just makes the game flaws even more apparent.
I tried playing at -1 but the game is just even sloppy than it already is in certain aspects, like shooting and spreading the play when spraying long passes about.

Can someone try +2 and tell me - despite it being uber quick - if the game feels more 'precise'?

I have full game on 360 and hopefully this is good news that murphy and the konami team know about the speed settings and maybe this will further push them to fix this in a patch.

btw how would clearing cach on console fix the settings??
