Ok so played the american demo. I love pes, loved all apart from 2008 and 2009.
My thoughts so far.
Good points:
Animations improved and seems faster than the gamescom demos, you have to think ahead more for one touch passes because if you are too late player will take a touch.
Keepers better than pes 13, found it hard to score which might sound bad but made me build up the play better. Wingers were making amazing runs too!
Tackling is pretty funny, but in a good way, the collision system works well here.
The game runs very very smooth (not cutscenes though)
Bad points:
The player management screen where you set formation is HORRENDOUS, like awful im not even joking, no idea whats gone on here but its so sluggish beyond belief! Takes about 5 minutes to drag a player off the bench and where you want him! Also its really hard to see if a player is on an up or down now, might get used to it but i missed players quite a few times.
Cut scenes are really laggy
The dots for freekicks are so stupid, doesn't work well at all, sluggish moving it about
Penalties vs human player (person playing on same console) does not make sense, you aim where you want it and the other player can see?! So every time it is saved haha, no idea what the plan was with that!?
Animations can take too long to finish, so much bumping into other players and losing the ball, looks strange.
players speed is so strange, strikers will run quite fast then get a sudden burst of speed that looks so odd and seems a bit unfair really. Good defenders have this too. Its like a turbo boost!
Players that are not done well look really strange, look at johnny evans and you will know what I mean, he looks like an albino and his face is not his at all. Rafael has a grey afro...
Shooting feels weak, running on to a ball with van persie on a high, he does not hit it as hard as you would like really.
Overall feel it has taken a step forward with animations but a step back in pretty much everything else, feels sort of fifa ish sometimes which people will like, but i loved how solid pes was and felt if they could have improved the animations a bit on the last gen engine it could have been a winner.
The new engine could go well in the long run and hopefully they will not add any features for next year and just improve what they have here. This feels like it has come too soon. Feel quite disappointed. Sorry for quick review, gotta sleep!
