good value players to sign

I just don't understand the whole calculation process. Like you said Rebelinho, a lot of it doesn't make sense.

Take Berhami (sp?) as an example. He is a destroyer, had good overall stats, but is just terrible for some reason even though I have played him for 3 seasons. A. Correa has fantastic individual stats as well as CA, but is horrible for me as well.

A 16yo Yaya Toure, with a 73CA just tears up the midfield with crappy stats. Another one is a 16yo Drogba. His individual stats are pretty bad, as is his CA, but playing him is pretty unreal. He scores tons of goals, wins balls back all the time.

It may just come down to Konami saying, "Well, this player will reach a high CA as well as stats, so no matter what abilities we give him right now, he will still be great even at 16."

I have no idea.

Just my two cents.

- Correa has amazing Abilities and CA, and plays wonderfully. But it's quite hard to get it right, Depay is another similar player that I couldn't tame (bougt him too early).
- Yaya is (I suppose) like RLC, he has very average stats, in every single stat. Which gives a great player. Go figure.
- Drogba as a regen has insanely good stats, regardless his age. And plays accordingly.
- I guess players like Drogba, Yaya, etc, are overhyped by Konami. If you take a worst winger in the game, and edit him to have the same abilities as Ronaldo, I would put my hands in the fire as they will perform very differently. Call it "PlayerID" if you want, some players seem to have superpowers regardless their abilities.

Had an epiphany while studying thermodynamics.

The Consistency CA is nothing more than... form. If a keeper has 5 in form he will have around 60/65 in consistency. 6 in form adds up to around 70/75, maximum low 80s. 7 and 8 give from 85 to 99. Mistery solved. Conclusion: don't pay the slightest attention to CA values.

I don't really bother looking at keeper attributes. All keepers are crap in PES. Just sign one with a good OR, job done. ;)

Hell no. I won't even strat with Neuer, Cech, Buffon, Cortouis etc. I had Cillessen for 5 season in my Porto ML. He was just outstanding, some saves would be considered "impossible" in real life. Sirigu is another one, excellent keeper. And Lloris is excellent in the game as well.

Ended my search for a keeper, and the possible options were McCarthy, from QPR, and Kristoffer Nordfeldt, from Heerenveen. McCarthy's wages were higher than the transfer fee + 5 years of wages for Nordfeldt, so there wasn't really a choice. I'll see how he performs.

What?!

Why do PES bring back retired players as their young selfes? This is by far the most retarded thing ever... This absolutley spoils the ML for me, PES is by far the best football game out there but with shit like this... I just get so mad.. Because i guess you cant turn this option off?

For goalkeepers, the only stats that you should look at are Goalkeeping, Saving and Form. All the rest are seldom used.

Would it be good to sign players like Drogba or Ibrahimovic, I love these players but I fear that they may just be a waste of money as they may decline heavily? Does anyone know how it is to sign a player like them

Just wait until they retire and then sign them as 16 year olds. I just did this with Sylvain Distin, Fabio Cannavaro and Brad Friedel.

Ali Remember our mutual friend Harriott? Found a similar, more balanced (=less fast), option for the same role. Patrick Roberts from Fulham. Younger (just 17), AMF as default but can play in all the attacking left + SS. Stupidly cheap, literally the cheapest player I've seen, he's asking me 95k in wages... I'm already foreseeing that this fella ain't in your game, but either way... here he is:

Also, let me second a player mentioned before: Forster-Caskey, from Bright & Hove Albion. Super cheap as well, terrible OVR but great value when looking at the stats that matter.

rebelinho - yeah, I had him on my shortlist for a while in my last ML, but didn't really develop that well.
Reason I put him on my shortlist is because I did sign him in my Fifa career mode, where he was pretty good? Do you know who I also signed? Forster-Caskey. Though I had him for 3-4 seasons and he didn't seem to be progressing at all so I let him go.

Yeah, I won't be buying him as well. Closed the deal on Forster-Caskey and Odegaard though, funny enough the latter had put renewal talks on hold with Real Madrid, so he'll come in for free. :ninja:

Where, in PES or FIFA?

Where, in PES or FIFA?

In Fifa. Signed him in my first season and he did alright, but then I bought better players, and other players in my squad improved a lot, so he was forced out of the team. Sent him on loan for the next few seasons, but as far as I remember he didn't improve at all. I signed Roberts a few seasons in, aged 21/22 I think and he had improved quite a lot.

There is a player for Newell's called F. Fydriszewski. He's only 21 to start with, but only rated 69OR by default. About mid way into my 2nd season, he's gone to 71OR, so hopefully he'll get a boost sooner rather than later. There's just something about him. He's a tall and strong player, and can play at AM/SS or CF. I think he may be worth taking a punt on for anybody with lower ranked teams.
Also at Newell's there's C. Torres. 19 year old CB, rated 67OR by default. Can play all across the back (I play him at RB), and also at CM/DM, and I've even played him at RM. Very useful player. He's had his boost for me, and is currently at 75OR.

Doo They can appear in three forms: as free agents, in "Others", or in a random team. To find them all just go to Advance Search and limit the age to 15-17. You can also limit the OVR to a minimum of 65, for exampe, in order to avoid useless players.

Ali Finally found the lad I was looking for almost since the game was released. Montsalvatge (clicky). This guy is off the charts. A true, classic number 10, amazing technique but not so fast (still, moderately quick). Only stats under 70 are Header and Defensive Prowness. Yes, he has more than 70 in Ball Winning, God knows why. Oh, and he's argentinian.

Also, while looking for him, the fella crossed my way: Carasque, or C. Luque ingame (clicky). Yet another Harriott-like player, but this seems even more balanced than Roberts, is definitely quicker and taller. Might develop well.

rebelinho - yes I've noticed Montsalvatge, but have opted against trying to sign him because he's fake (yes.... I am a snob like that).

Ups, forgot you don't like those fellas. A man gotta have rules... even if you had a wannabe Riquelme right there.
