Everyone's talking about goal of the month, which is great. As far as I'm aware there's a 1mb limit to attached files, ah oui?

If we have a GOTM competition including ten entries per month, then I think having to download ten individual/separate files would be a bit of a pain.

I don't know exactly what sort of deal Hitman's got going on this website, but would it not be possible for, once a month, a larger .mpg file to be attached, which is a "presentation" of the ten challengers for GOTM?

Mutu, you know how on Movie Maker you sent me your selection of goals, something similar, but with slight pauses in between each of the challengers, i.e. Goal Number. Scorer (Team) vs. Team - submitted by Person X.

e.g. 1. Louis SAHA (Man Utd) vs. Bayer Leverkusen - submitted by Nifty1Pound50

Using Movie Maker, you could do a little sequence with all ten goals in a single .mpg file, and that would mean you only have one file to download to be able to view the goals.

Clearly, the problem is the webspace/hosting space, but if we could get around this somehow (that's what I need more information from Hitman and the higher echelons of society on), then this would surely be a more convenient, and professional way, of doing it?

Sort of like the sequence for GOTM on The Premiership, but without the ridiculous music.

this is my thinking, we get the files sent in and the judges (me hitman paulb stevieboy?) decide which 5 or 10 or whatever ammount go into the public vote for who wins it

right? not all of them get through, which would be kinda stupid, i dont want everyone (a lot of people being 56k especially) to have to download a bunch of crappy goals either

oh and i reckon a restriction on entries per member per month, and maybe minimum of 50 posts users can do it? so no cheating

Well I was under the impression that as the public can only upload a 1mb file, then each goal in the final 10, or 5, or whatever, would be separate. I mean put them all together into ONE file. Which would come to more than a megabyte.

Anyway, I don't think you should be making all of these rules about half-way line lobs and so on, but simply see what gets submitted, and pick the best *set number per month here* each month, and let that be the case.

Just because there isn't ten crackers in the Premier League each month doesn't mean they veto the GOTM competition, does it?

Well ten-a-penny goals aren't special, are they? By default, like.

But my main point is that you lot were all talking about having separate files for each goal, meaning ten downloads just to be able to judge.

How do you presume to get ten goals into a single Mpeg, whilst keeping it under 1mb? Is compression really going to cut it down by about 9000%?

it doesnt have to be under one 1mb as long as the files are hosted OFF the pesinsight server.

So it's only direct attachments that can be a maximum of 1mb?

If people send me the goals in MPEG format i can create the compilation but I have no hosting space. i could send it to someone over MSN.

Hey, I'm kinda new, but I'm rather interested in this game (BTW, I'm from SG) and, if you'd like it, I could do the compilation as well, and I may be able to find a place to host the file as well.
Either way, I'd be interested in this idea.

Hi guys,
I think the file size should be limited, otherwise, Steiveboy who is using dial up needs to download huge amount of file to judge. Maybe, we can ask the member to submit some highly compressed file just for the sake of judgement. After the 10 goals have been selected, member is asked to submit a better quaity video for the forum.
Also, to limit the work of Steiveboy, hitman ,paulb, Mutu, I think each member may at most sumit two or three goals.
