Gran Turismo 5 [PS3]

So what? It's just a minor piece of poor organisation, doesn't affect the long term potential of the game.

You guys better not get bored of this on me. When I get my PS3 back I expect an ass kicking off someone.

5 years worth though? Considering Yamauchi is such an anal fellow for detail, it's almost pathetic that so much was missed/skimmed over.

I do hope we get some decent updates, best be free too, otherwise Matt will be cruising the high speed ring on his own in his pink Micra.

There has been a breakthrough. I have found a use for B-Spec mode. Seriously.

I am waiting for a decent European classic sports car to become available in the used dealership and am bored of racing my current crop of motors. So, thinks I, rather than race, I can leave my B-spec dumbo to race, earning me credits and driving my shit cars, while passing game time allowing new models to appear in said shop.

It may be worth noting however, that if this is the only real use I find for B-spec mode, then it is actually a pretty poor one.

Don't understand B-Spec mode at all, I mean I get the concept of it...just why the fuck would you put it in a game?

Seriously, considering these arseholes delayed this game for years to 'perfect' it - there are some major flaws

What exactly is B-Spec then out of curiosity?

Instead of doing the racing you instruct another driver; tell him when to change pace, overtake, etc.

It's all good until you find out how retarded these AI drivers actually are.

Nail on the head Bez, nail on the head. My main driver is now level 7, but still cannot win the very first race. Even with the best car he fails to finish above 4th. Really don't get it.

 B-Spec sounds like a crock of shit. Reminds me of how PES Management sounded, remember that seemingly dreadful game? Boy that faded into obscurity quick.

It wouldn't be too bad if you could personalise your vehicles, or create some kind of team. For christ's sake, even pick the drivers name rather than from a pre-determined selection. Then you might feel some ownership. But nay.

Yeah, my driver is called A. Dos Santos I think. I didn't understand why I was picking one at first and what his driving stats were for. Haven't actually bothered to try the B-spec mode yet.

In fact, all I've really done is those tedious licences. Feel free to hook me up with a fast car anyone. Ferrari would be good. :shifty:

I quite like B-spec actually.

E.Velasquez (or bob as he is more commonly known) is on his way to this top

It's good for earning some easy money and experience, and i'm pretty sure you get different prize cars for winning the same events in A-Spec.

Having said that, you do need a vastly superior car to all of your opponents, i'm talking about 100bhp+ above. Also you need to check the gear ratio on the fully customisable transmission (this should be on all cars regardless of A-Spec or B-Spec), if the gears are wrong for the track, you won't win.

Might want to take a peek at my new toy then...

Good point on the gearing ratio. Also need to make sure you put the driver on the best possible tyres the race will allow too. I've found FR & 4WD to be the 'safest' bet. Can't use them in all races I know, but I will wherever possible.

Just had my B-Spec drive doing the French car champ in my little white Veyron. Slightly souped up to a shade under 1150BHP... Got a nice piccy of it with it's wing up, mid race, that I'll set to share for anyone interested.

Oh & Dale, yes you do get different cars for completing race types in B-Spec.

Picked it up just after christmas and am loving it. Currently got a Ferrari 512BB, 2010 Subaru Impreza, Renault Sport Clio, Ford Mustang Mach 1, Ford Focus ST and a 1997 Honda Civic Type R (as well as the Kart). Tuned most of my cars (including the Mustang which now has well over 500 bhp).

Who wants to donate me a truck? I need it to complete the Beginner event.

I'll loan you my Ford F150, it's more than good enough to win the events without breaking into a sweat...

Edit:- 521BHP, Stage 1 + ECU, supercharged, 5 speed close ratio box for the tighter tracks (use standard box on oval).

Remember though, forget to return in & I have the power to ban you from here! :boss:

Seriously though, if you're interested then let me know...
