[GTA IV] Would you give it a 10?

8.5/9 ish for me. I still havn't finished the story yet because I stopped playing it for a few weeks before but im playing it a bit more now. Free Mode is the only real multiplayer mode I do, its still fun.

9.9 only because the "perfect 10" would kinda be impossible to acheive. how could you create a game that could not be improved upon?

9.5 - Gorgeous game, took a while for the story to really get going but once it did, it was excellent. The characters were diverse and intersting. The only fault for me is that the difficulty could be a little bit more challenging and the missions should have been varied in format.

This is my favourite game. I have completed the story twice (due to having different decisions to make during the game and the two different endings) but still haven't completed it 100%. The reason for this is that there is so much to do it is quite time consuming (e.g. 200 pigeons to find and kill, stunt jumps, all the random people you meet on the streets etc). Then there is the extra stuff such as the TV programs in the game which are hilarious (I love Republican Space Rangers).

The only things I would have wanted to be in the game are things like more clothes (I don't really like half of the stuff and there isn't much to choose from) along with other character customisation (e.g. hair styles, gyms/dojos, etc), properties to purchase, and possibly some countryside areas around the city. But all of those things aren't important.

Overall I would give this game 9.8/10

yes. it's fucking awesome. no such thing as perfect, unless someone invents a video game that you can have sex with, cures cancer and world famine and makes you breakfast in the morning, then someone will always find something to complain about.

gta 3 was revolutionary for it's time, and so is this. an absolute masterpiece.

Even though there are certain things that i would like to see in the game i would give it a 10. I have only had the game for three weeks and the fact i am not playing fifa 10 as much is a massive complement to rockstar. I love the aiming system and the real world environment is truly astounding.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great game but I just didn't get drawn into the story as much as I thought I would. I also preferred the setting of San Andreas to GTA IV. The city was amazing but it just didn't have as much variety as San Andreas.

My fav game of this type is still Mafia on the PC. That had an amazing atmosphere and storyline. Can't wait for Mafia 2!! :)

Overall I'd give GTA IV - 9.4/10

I'm replaying this, still stunned by how freaking good it looks. Sometimes I just take the helicopter for the view, or walking near the waterfront. Not getting anything done that way!

I wouldn't give this a 10, maybe a 9. It looks good, but nowhere near San Andreas or Vice City imo.

Vice city was amazing. I got soo stuck into the whole story line with the miami beach setting with the 80's radio station :). (Flash FM was awesome..."I like it huuuge and flaassshyyy!"

San Andreas was huge. Storyline was good with gangs and shit amazing. You could fly planes and do all sorts of shit. I used to love using cheats just to make messing about on the game that bit better. One cheat i used was when you bump into other cars they would float up into the air and keep rising. I would bump into a car then jump on it and try and snipe as i was sat on the floating car lol. I also use to go out into the middle of the country side and pick up a pick up truck and connect loads of them together (i think my record was 8) and drive round with all these pick up trucks stuck together lol..

Gta IV has a good story and the map is amazing. But i feel they went too realistic and took all the random fun outta it.

I got a 100% on this game which was hard enough, but the platinum torphy if fucking impossible, I have all but about 3 trophies, but the work required to get them is ridiculous

Why?
Because u don't fell like ur playing it and sometimes it just gets boared and the missions are not good quite also the story isn't good enough so my rating is 9.0 and beside the reality of the game the reality it's not good enough some times u feel it like it's real but some times it's only a game .. also the infintie it's not like SAN ANDREAS I'll gave San Andreas 9.8 .
and in IV no planes and the AIRPORT is forbiden also the cheats in PS3 will disable the trophies ,, BUT the Ballad of the gay tony and the dammend is a good game from the story to the missions .. u feel the action in it also the cheat kind a allowed I only use the weapon and car fixing cheat I never tried another cheats ..

The story lost it's way a bit half way through but c'mon it's a great storyline.
The story is head and shoulders compared to anything what proceeded it in the series.
Playing in free mode online on pc with a native trainer is some of the most fun gaming i've ever had .
BOGT was good but not as good as IV. Not even close.
And the lost and damned was garbage.

I've still not played any of the expansions, but as I originally said this game is a masterpiece. If you can't give this a top grade, then you're bloody hard to please.

I'd put Red Dead Redemption a class above GTA IV. I just found the story in the former to be far more compelling, and the game itself, most importantly; more fun.

We can talk about visuals all we like, but when you play a game, especially one that is so lengthy in its story, it absolutely has to be fun in order to keep your interest. GTA IV just wasn't unfortunately.
